  • Soil turning white with no plant growth?

Some of the soil at our house has turned white and there is no plant growth where it has yet in the areas where there is no colour change the plants continue to grow. We had severe earthquakes a few years back and there was quite a bit of liquefaction yet there has been no problems with that. I was wondering what caused this and if it is possibly due to previous buried chemicals rising to the surface over time?

  • I need to know how to get over someone. I am an adult and its been an issue for years.?

Ok, so its a very long story so here's the short version. When I was 16 I fell for a exchange student, lets call her Joey. It was like movie-love. We were together for a bit under 2 years and after we split up we were each others rock to call if we had a bad time. Ever since we have had partners (I ended up going completely off the rails until my daughter was born after a fling and she's become a lecturer) but none has ever stacked up with what we felt for each other. I live in Christchurch New Zealand and joey was here visiting me during both of the quakes. We ended up hooking up after the second and deciding we were gonna give it another go.

Now I REALLY love her, like no one else other than my daughter.

After awhile I realised I couldn't screw up her life to make me happy. I am pretty much a loser in everything but being a dad. She was going to give up being a respected professor to live with me. So I acted like a tosser so she wouldn't be interested in me anymore and broke it off before it started again properly.

Since then I have only had one partner (who supported me when I broke it off). The problem is I am still not over her (and I suspect it might be the same for her still). Neither of us have ever felt the same towards anyone else as we have each other. Its been 11 years now since this started. I need to know how to stop caring for her before I ruin my entire life pining for someone I know I am not good enough for.

    Any help whatsoever?
