  • I have a 2003 Chevy 2500 HD Crew-cab pick-up long bed and I need to replace the tires.?

It currently has LT245 / 75R 16 tires mounted on 16 X 7 inch rims on it at present. I would like to go to a larger tire. What is the largest tire I can put on this truck without creating any clearance problems between the tires and the body. The truck is a crew-cab long bed two wheel drive 2500 HD model sitting at stock ride height in the front and a little higher than stock in the back. I use the truck for street and highway driving and towing only; no off road or back road.

  • On a 1997 Pontiac Trans-Am, can the power radio antenna be repaired?

The mast used to move up and down quite slowly, however all I hear now is a clicking sound and the mast of the antenna does not extend at all. Can this be repaired, or will I have to just find a replacement unit for it? The antenna is mounted inside the passenger rear fender. It repairs to this are possible where would I find the repair kits for this unit?

  • I'm having an unusual transmission problem on my 1997 Pontiac Trans-Am.?

The vehicle has a 5.7L V-8 and a 700R4 Trans. Around town or on short trips the trans works fine. However on trips of 150 to 200 miles or more I experience something really unusual. The transmission will start to shift super hard when it makes the first to second shift and then the second to third shift. Regardless of how little throttle you give the engine the shifting is still extremely aggressive and really chirps the tires. If I stop for gas or to get something to eat the transmission will act normally for a while and then will start the hard shifting again. Around town or on short trips the situation never occurs. I have serviced the transmission, checked the throttle pressure control cable. Periodically, not always, I will get a service engine light and when I check the code it says there is a coupling error in the transmission. Could it be a problem with the lock-up convertor? Anyone have any ideas. Whenever I take the car to a transmission tech everything is working fine and they can't duplicate the problem I experience.

  • I'm having an occasional starting problem with my 2001 Chevy Malibu.?

The engine will crank over fine, but it won't start. I will have it hauled home and right after it is unloaded it will suddenly start just fine. I have checked all the electrical connections I can find and cleaned the battery terminals numerous times but can find nothing wrong. Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this problem?
