i jus recently hoped on the anime watching / manga reading banwagon and i watched a few recommended by friends, for example berserk, naruto, samaurai x just to name a few that really stood out to me and they all seem to have some inner philisophies about destiny, friendships, life or whatever hidden within thier fictional stories, have these type of shows always been like this ?

lets say there is this manager in charge of a special organization and in this organization the manager decides to give some workers free will to do whatever they want do to better the organization, when this organization starts to fail and have problems because of the bad free will choices of some of the workers who should get the blame ? the manager or the workers ?
