  • Would my life be better if I was skinny?

I am 5'4 and 133 lbs, and active, so it isn't really a health issue. I have always been self conscious about the way I look, and can't help but think I would be happier if I were 20-25 pounds lighter. It is to the point where I avoid going out so that I don't have to show myself. I feel like I am always on a diet, but never loose any weight.

    Any thoughts?

  • Help getting over a guy?

I had a huge crush on a guy at the beginning of high school. I would try to sit with him as much as possible, talk to him, make jokes, and try to connect with him. The more I did this, the more and more I liked him, and the more he tried to push me away. He was not always kind to me, but I couldn't help but want to be near him.

This went on for about two years, until I finally started to get over the fact that he did not feel the same way. We stayed close friends, but I started to move on mentally. He finally started to have feelings for me. All I could think about was the time I spent with him, while he didn't have feelings for me, and how angry I was at myself for allowing someone to have such an impact on me.

I feel like I had my heart broken once by him, when he rejected me, and I feel like I broke my own heart when I rejected him.

I would like to move on, because this happened over 2 years ago. Any comments or advice?

  • Is it weird that I have never had a boyfriend?

I'm 18, and about to go to college, and I have just realized that with the nervousness of packing up to go to college that I have never really had a boyfriend. I have liked guys and stuff before, but nothing ever really happened. Is that weird? Now I am freaking out that I won't ever meet anyone because I have been described before as cold, or that I might meet someone, but that I will totally mess it up because I have no experience with guys and won't know what to do. I don't even know how to talk to guys really (I mean I have a couple guy friends and stuff, but most people don't really notice me)

can anyone give me any advice? or wikipedia articles to read? (that last one was a joke)

  • How soon to see results from running and soccer?

I am female, 17, and 132lbs. I eat relatively healthily: fruits, yogurt and nuts for breakfast, salad and yogurt for lunch, and chicken, salad, broccoli, and rice for dinner, and fruits for snacks.

How soon will I see results after running 3-4x a week for an hour and soccer practice 3x a week?

  • Can I loose 15 lbs in 2 months?

Im 18, 5'3 and 130 lbs.. I would really like to lose about 15 pounds in the next couple of months in time for summer. The reason I want to loose weight is not because i want to look super skinny or anything, but because i actually have a very petite frame, and I really don't 'hold the weight well' in areas... i.e.: my stomach probably sticks out as much as my chest (although I am quite flat chested) basically all of my weight accumulates around my abdomen, upper arms, and thighs...which is not a good look.

I don't eat junk food really, and have been really trying to cut down on the bread.

I play soccer about 3 times a week, so i can't really afford to go on any kind of super duper calorie restrictive diet, but i guess i could run in the mornings before school or something.

do any of you have any advice?

  • Conduct an experiment in beakers or test tubes?

I am doing an experiment to determine the water potential of potato. I am using 5 different glucose concentrations.

Can I conduct my experiment so that 5 potato wedges are in a beaker with a specific concentration of glucose? Or should I conduct the experiment so that each potato wedge is in an individual test tube?

I will record the mass of the individual potato wedges after a specific time.

Will there be a larger margin of error if the experiment is conducted in beakers?

  • Trying to lose weight. Restricting to 900 calories?

I am trying to lose weight, and be more in shape.

    Im 17 5'4 and 132 lbs

I play competative soccer 3x a week, and am a fairly active person.

I dont eat junk food often, and I have stopped snacking.

for breakfast, I have been eating either a yogurt or a tangering, sometimes I have been skipping lunch or having a sandwich. for dinner I have been having lots of steamed vegetables like broccoli, with 1/2 a cup of brown rice.

I have also been drinking alot of fruit juices and water.

Why am I not losing weight or losing the fat I have accumulated everywhere? My waist measurement is still 33 in.

    What should I do?

  • Feeling weak after food restriction?

I have been restricting my food intake lately. I have been snacking less, and eating way more fruits and vegetables. I tend to eat two tangerines for breakfast, a tangerine for lunch and a turkey sandwich, then brown rice and broccoli for dinner. I have been snacking rarely, but sometimes on nuts and fruit. I have been also drinking water and juice.

I have been having difficulties concentrating, and feel really weak. What should I do to stop feeling like this? I am at the point now where I find it really difficult to eat more than what I have been eating for the past week.

  • Fooling a panel of Psychiatrists?

Would it be easier to convince a panel of psychiatrists that you are normal when you are not (ie. manipulative people like Edmund Kepmer) or to convince them that you are depressed or deranged, when you are normal (ie. people trying to get reduced prison sentences)

Not that I am trying to trick anybody anytime soon, I was just curious.
