How do you confront a parent for writing a student's essay for him/her?

I'm an American teacher who recently turned down an offer to teach in England. The pay was low, especially for the cost of living, and I've heard terrible rumors about student behavior in England. Are these rumors true? Are British kids worse than American kids in school?

My Korean coworker said that Korean people agree that there are 7 places in Korea that are believed to be the most beautiful places in Korea. I've been to two of them, Gyeongpodeh in Gangleung, Gawangdo and Danyang/Chungju Lake. She can't think of what the other five are. Do you know what they are?

I'm going to be staying in phuket and bangkok for a few days and I wanted to bring along my laptop to do some work. However, I've heard account of people getting stuff stolen in their hotel rooms. Should I just leave it at home then?

I'm contemplating a move to the UK for a year or two and can't make up my mind about where to go. I'm not particularly interested in a super-metro area such as London, but a smaller urban area would be nice. Which place do you think has the best cost-of-living, sights, and decent weather?

This is an issue of dispute with my friend and I. They think that I cannot survive on a 30,000 pounds per annum salary living outside of London. Furthermore, they insist that I'd need at least 50,000 pounds to not only pay living expenses, but have enough left over to put in savings.

I'm looking for a place that has a good metro system, reasonably priced cost of living, and decent dining options (i.e., decent Thai food and sushi). I'm cool with anywhere in the UK except London. I like places that are near something scenic or rural. Any ideas?

In my short teaching career, I've encountered violence in my classroom/hallways a handful of times. Only once has a student directly assaulted me (grabbed my arm to keep me from going for help). Fortunately, an administrator came just in time to assist me. Have you ever been in a similar situation? How did you handle it?

As a teacher, I've put a great deal of thought into this question. I already have a personal idea of this, but I'm interested in learning what other people think.

What books do you think every high school student should know in order to become an informed part of our society?

Do you think that people are honestly posting their thoughts on the poetry here, or that they possibly have the ulterior motive of gaining the poet's favor (and points)?

My neighbors in the upstairs apartment are having a terrible screaming, shouting, pounding, throwing things fight. It's 12am and my roomates and I were woken up by the terrible noise of their children screaming in fear.

What do we do? We're three girls living together and afraid to go up there.
