Why does my cat 5e patch cable work with my netbook and xbox 360, but not my desktop?
Is there a reason my old yellow cat 5e patch cable that I run from the modem directly to a device works with my desktop, netbook, and 360, but my new black one works only with my netbook, 360 and NOT my desktop? Shouldn't all cat 5e cable work with any device that uses them?

I have had pain in my back for about a week and a half now. It started getting better as last week went by. The pain was pretty much central to my lower back, and then it seems to migrate to the left buttock. I did feel some numbness down to my left foot and my left leg. Today I have experienced random shooting pain while walking that is so bad it stops me in my tracks. I have read here that could be the sciatic nerve. However, I do know that I wore the same shoes to work for a long time and I just changed them a few days before I started developing the pain. The only other time in my life I have had pain like this was under similar circumstances when I switched shoes after wearing a certain pair for a long time at work.
