Got this question in my exam practice book..tried it but i cant figure out how they got the answer - what ive done so far...

Q: Find the equation of F'(x) given that f(x) passes through thepoint (2,5).

So far I have:

f(x) = x^3 + 0.5x^2 - 2x + c

Then substitute

5 = (2) ^3 + 0.5(2)^2 - 2(2) + c

c = 5 - 8. -> C = -3

According to the answers c = 5....

But I asked my friends and they also got c= -3

Then again, we could all be wrong...so would appreciate some help/confirmation as sometimes the answer book is wrong too :c

b) Name the substance that radioactive O^18 will be found in at the end of the energy release process.

I need to work out the following for these two equations:

Oxidation half equation

Reduction half equation

Balanced equation

Colour change

a) Fe3+ + SO2 -> Fe2+ + SO4{2-}

b) MnO4{-} + Br{-} -> Mn2+ + Br2

I tried to to this but I'm not even sure if I'm even doing it right? So for question a, I got reduction half equation as e- + Fe3+ -> Fe2+

It doesnt seem right to me, hence the reason I'm coming here for help. I read my text books, but the teacher didnt really explain how she got her answers ><

I needa know how to count this, you don't have to give me the answer to the question, just an explanation on how I would calculate this. Thanks!

I tried looking for solutions online which tell me, but they all give an answer which involves lone pairs... Does O3 not have bonding + non bonding pairs??

As the title says, I'm wondering if the short story The Landlady by Roald Dahl would be considered a mystery theme? I'm doing a unit on mystery, and have to choose 3 books and 1 short stories, and I'm not really sure where to start especially with the short stories.

Help? Got no clue where to start, which formula to use?

1st question: Find a formula for the nth term of this arithmetic sequence: 4,10,16,22...

For that question I got the answer : tn = 4 + (n-1) x 6

Is that right?

Second question (the one i need help with):

How many terms for the arithmetic sequence 4,7,10,13... need to be taken to obtain the number 202?

Explain please, how you get the answer, because I've done sums and stuff, but I don't have this one in my book.

Im not sure which one out of these would't be beneficial if we reduced its usage...coz obviously all items would reduce our electricity bills..

An unknown solution X, is pale blue. When excess ammonia solution is added to some of solution X, a deep blue solution forms. When silver nitrate is added to some of solution X, nothing happens. When barium chloride is added to some of solution X, nothing happens.

Im leaning towards Copper II Nitrate just because Copper II usually starts as a pale blue, and when certain solutions are mixed with Cu2+, it turns into a royal blue/dark blue colour.

And since it already has Nitrate in it, it wouldnt do anything when Silver Nitrate is added...

But I'm not sure.

I have a question for homework, that asks which pairs of ions would make a precipitate. I'm usually okay with these questions but this one that I have Ca2+ + Cl-.....I have to wrote an equation and I came out with cacl2....according to the chart, this is "slightly soluble". I don't know what happens when something is slightly soluble...does it or does it not create a precipitate? Thanks

What observations do you see when AgNO3 and NaCl is mixed?

I thought the only thing that happens is it creates a white precipitate? Im not able to perform the test myself, but the question is in my homework sheet. Ive watched videos of the reaction, but again, I only see it turn into a white precipitate.

So.....what are the other observations involved with this reaction? And what happens when you add ammonia to this solution?

Does it turn clear again? I can't remember, but in class, I tested something that went back to clear colour when excess ammonia was added.

explain why the ions in sodium hydroxide combine to give the formula NaOH but the ions in beryllium hydroixide combine to give the formula Be(OH)2.

I have made a webpage for a school project, and its close to finishing. Howver when I pressed Ctrl + Scroll out to view it at 75% the images that are inside the webpage goes all out of place.

What should I do or search for to help me keep this in place as I zoom out and in on pages?

So, Im about to install the Adobe Master Collection, and you can choose the programs you want to install right (out of the Master Collection package)?, Anyways, my question is, if i choose not to install a certain program e.g Dreamweaver, can I install it at a later date without uninstalling everything else first?

- Explain what Scout must learn from Atticus at the start of the chapter. (Im thinking that what she must learn is the lesson about rape as she asked the Atticus "what is rape?' - Why is Dill brought back into the novel? As he hadnt been in the novel since the last time he left at the start of the book. So why is he suddenly back?

I am supposed to summarise the church scene and its importance to the book? Its where Calpurnia takes the children to her church which is a 'coloured church'.

Anyhow, I dont see how it is important? I mean, I can see that clearly some of them werent very welcoming and the kids felt unwanted, but I guessed it was natural as the Maycomb society were very mean to coloured people.

My task is to state what the Irish publics perspective isof the rebels and why they had that perspective. Then what actions they took and why?

So far i have done the perspectives e.g they did not welcome the rebels and their views were negative etc

and the reasons i have given is that because resentment felt while irishmen were at war helping the british, and also coz they cause lots of damage to buildings during the rising.

but i dont understand wat it means by what did the citizens do?

coz i know that their views changed after the executions of leaders, but what actually happened after that? did the public cause or do something significant after the Rising?
