I had an incident where i was drinking socially with my landlord and he must of lost his phon in my apartment and the next morning i wake up with him infront of me asking if i had found it. So i movee out, cus wtf.now im in my room in my new apartment hanging out using my phone and i havnt been out my room all day so i guess my roommate thought i was absent and i soo the door fling open. i wanted to buy a pen but i need a 5$ minimum to pay at the corner store. i payed and forget the pen. so i told the cashier that i forgot the pen and that i wanted to return what i bout and rebuy it with the pen. he got confused i think he was like making math calculations or something but i wasnt going to go through onother 5 dollar minimum. he said i couldn't return it. this guy didn't have a return policy. im not sure if he even had to return it but i wasnt having it i just wantex the pen that i didn't have so he told me to come back tomorrow and ask the manager for my money back because he didn't have "a system" to return my money so i said ok but first let me get a written statement that you will return the money to me. what if i come back tomorrow and miraculously a return policy apears. we where arguing- he didn't want to sign it so i was like wth man just give me back the 5.35 or sing the statement. his argument was that i couldn't retuw it because that was his policy. i said well wth where you going yo tell me that before i payed? was he obligated to pay me back my money if he had a visable return policy? i got him to sing the agreement by the way-i got my money back.

my question is- if i buy something and the person selling me the stuff- doesnt have a return policy and i no long want the items is he obligated to refund my purchase?

do they know they are losing money on that? all the five dollar minimum is saying to me is "we don't want your three dollars, spend it in the store next door."
