  • After watching his shows, over and over again, do you believe Maury needs to be tougher on his guests?

From watching his shows on paternity and polygraph tests, it appears after each tests, host Maury Povich isn't helping matters at all with couples in absolute jeopardy of breaking up. When one half of the couple says they're breaking up, he insists on them to meet with his "counselor", before they go home. HELLO- if they're going to break up, LET THEM!!! One program, he insisted on that, after the polygraph test revealed that her boyfriend had been stealing personal property from her and pawning them. What he should've said is, "When you get home, you call the police and have him prosecuted for grand larceny!!!" On another one of his shows, when the paternity test revealed the husband wasn't the father of his wife's baby, he stormed off stage in anger, demanding a divorce. Once Maury is oblivious to the couple's impending divorce by liberally insisting on the couple meeting with his "counselor". Maury just doesn't get it- if they're going to get a divorce, LET THEM!!! On another paternity test program, still oblivious, after one guests moves his chair away from the woman demanding paternity, he tells the guest to get up and moves the chair closer to the woman demanding paternity. HELLO- there's a reason why they have no relationship!!! Other paternity shows, when the paternity suspect brings his girlfriend on stage and she starts verbally taunting the woman who demands the paternity test. Maury should've thrown the paternity suspect's girlfriend off his stage the very second she said something derogatory to the woman demanding paternity, but doesn't. Other paternity test shows, the guests get in other guests' faces. He should tell them, "If you get out of that chair and get up in his face, again, I'm going to have you thrown off the stage. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME?!" You all know what I mean- the bottom line is Maury needs to be tougher on his guests, period. He's way too nice to his guest and that doesn't help matters at all.

  • Isn't it time to consider mandating domestic petroleum?

This has to do with energy independence. With fuel prices continuing to rise to abominable levels, the matter of domestic petroleum comes into mind. At the same time, the matter of restricting the exportation of foreign petroleum also comes into mind, as well as regulating petroleum, entirely. Another thing comes into mind, and that's the termination of tax breaks to oil companies. Domestic petroleum means relying on ourselves and not other countries, and that means upgrading refineries, opening the reserves and drilling for oil, here at home. The oil companies are making huge profits at our expense, because of tax breaks, but terminating the tax breaks for the oil companies means they'll have to cough up a lot of the profits they've made. Something to really think about, because the time for petty bureaucratic protocol as far as this matter is concerned, is long passed and something has got to be done and soon.
