I have a major project coming up that will require the collecting and storing of many photographs. Not having undertaken such a task before I would like help as to what fields of information to include in my database other than the image.

I plead absolute ignorance on this subject so will not be offended by the most obvious things like 'date'.

In general, I expect to be using a digital camera, however, there may be some images from other sources that will be scanned for inclusion.

Suggestions as to a reliable database would also help.
