Why lebanese people hate Pakistanis in a racist manner?
2 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups6 years agoWhy are Lebanese racist towards Pakistanis and see them with so much contempt?
Lebanon and Pakistan do not come across often except in european countries or in the middle east where people from both countries migrate for better lives. I have noticed that Lebanese have this utter contempt for Pakistanis
i know that the cultures are a lot different but it isn't that the people in both countries know something about each other already or were brought up being told by their society something about each other as well. I have a lot of lebanese friends who have told me this when frankly asked that they have this european racism built into them for anyone asian/south asian. my boss is a lebanese but with italian nationality and mindset and he is really a nice man but once while we were travelling to another place on a long journey the conversation got very frank and he told me that Lebanese will always tell you that they are not racist and respect everyone and do not mind the colors but they are more racist than they will let you know.
Also surrounding countries like syria, Jordan, egypt, turkey - i have been to i haven't seen such attitudes like I did in Lebanon.
Once i was in mar elias in beirut and i went to a shop for cakes and pastries, i asked for a cake, the guy in the shop put me off to serve about 3 other customers who had infact come later and even ordered later. then he asked me after everyone left as to what i wanted i repeated and he serviced my request but the only question he asked me was where i am from and his eyes showed contempt.
No offence is meant to anyone
