My daughter is 18 months old and she never had trouble sleeping before. But out of nowhere she wants to wake up in the middle of the night and then she will not go back to sleep. We live in an apartment so I can't just let her cry for very long or people complain. She slept all night from 1 month old until now. We are having a new baby in 2 months and I need her to sleep. • Should big sister-to-be be in the room when baby comes?

My daughter will be 19 months old on my due date. I am torn between wanting her to be there in the hospital to see her new brother and leaving her at home. Her and I have not been apart much cause I'm a stay at home mom, and I know that leaving her will make both of us miserable. But I don't want her to be sscared while i'm pushing either. Do any of you have any suggestions? What did you do with your other babies while you were having your new baby?

  • I'm pregnant now how do I start weaning?

My daughter is 15 days away from being 1 year old and has been breast fed from the day she was born. I was waiting until after her birthday to start weaning her, but I missed my period and took a pregnancy test and it was positive. So now I need to wean her and fairly quickly. I have no idea how to do this. The only thing she will drink from is a sippy cup with a straw and a regular glass. Do I start her on whole milk now? She is so close to a year old. She eats food, table food and number 3 baby food. She drinks water and juice really well. How do I go about weaning her and what can I expect for me and her?

  • How can I get my 8 month old to sleep through the night again?

My daughter has been sleeping through the night since she was 1 month old. She started teething and she would wake up at night crying, and I would get up with her. Now that her teeth are through she still gets up, several times a night. I feel like a new mother. I have tried letting her cry but that only makes her worse. And now she will not go back to sleep without nursing. I'm worried about her teeth. What can I try to get her to sleep through the night again. She eats quite alot of baby food. She is chunky but I wouldn't say she is overly chunky.

  • What do I do to make him understand?

Before our daughter was born a year ago my fiance quit chewing. But I caught him chewing again. he said he had been doing it for over a week but was to ashamed to tell me. I don't want that kind of influence around our daughter and I told him that. But I don't think he is listening. I know that his friends from college and work encourage him to chew cause they chew. I really don't want to leave him, cause I love him to death, but how do I make him see that I won't tolerate this bad habit?

  • what is causing this constant bleeding?

SInce my daughter was born 5 months ago I have had irregular periods. The doctor said it was cause I was breast feeding. But in the last couple months I have had 3 periods and just started again, after only 4 days. The bleeding is not heavy but more than spotting. Is this from the breast feeding also, or does it sound like a more serious problem. Should I see a doctor?

  • what can I expect when they induce me?

I was on bed rest for 5 weeks cause I went into labor at 30 weeks. They took me off my pills at 35 weeks, and although I have had contractions they are not doing much. I went into false labor and spent the night at the hospital but it only lasted for 6 hours. I'm almost 4 centimeters dilated, and because I am 38 weeks and 3 days, and because I live almost two hours from the hospital they are inducing me in 6 days. I just want to what to expect when I go in to be induced. Any advice or your experiences would be great. Thank you all in advance.
