  • Buying a side of Beef?

We are looking to purchase a side of beef from one of the local farms. Since this will be the first time we are buying directly from the farm, we are curious as to what we should ask. Here's what I have so far:

    Is your beef organically raised?

Is it grass or corn fed?

How long is the meat aged?

Do you freeze the meat for your customers?

Price per lb - hanging weight or finish weight

    Deposit needed?

    Methods of payment accepted?

    Order deadline?

Is there anything else I'm missing or should ask?

    Thanks for the help!

  • How many minutes of video can a 30 GB camcorder hold?

We are looking to buy a camcorder, and my husband would prefer one where the video is saved to an internal hard drive. It seems most of the video cameras start at a 30 GB drive, but I can't find any info on the approximate number of minutes of video that equates to.

  • Can you freeze baklava?

I want to get a head start on my holiday baking, and one of my favorites is baklava. Can I freeze it before it is cooked or after? I want to make it in the beginning of November & have it for Christmas so leaving in in a tin on the counter for a few weeks isn't an option.

    Thanks!

  • Advice on menotring an alternate route teacher...?

Does anyone have advice on mentoring an alternate route teacher?

I have been teaching for 6 years and have taught 3-8th grade. This October I will be going out on maternity leave, so my district has asked me to mentor an Alternate Route 7th grade French teacher. My role is to give her tips & strategies on classroom management & the professional aspects of teaching, but I also have to observe her several times a week.

    Note:

In NJ, to be an alternate route teacher, means that you have at least an undergraduate degree in your content area and that you have passed the required Praxis exams for your content area. The main difference between an alternate route teacher & a traditional route teacher is that the alternate route teacher has not taken methods classes, nor have they had an opportunity to student teach.

  • What should I ask when interviewing a doula?

My husband & I are considering hiring a doula for the birth of our first child in late Oct/early Nov. We have a few interviews lined up with women who are available around our due date.

Other than price, what should we ask?

Are there any red flags that we should stay away from?

  • What do I need so that I can give my newborn a bath?

I am currently 28 weeks pregnant and am trying to pick up a few items that I will need when I first bring the baby home. I already have hooded towels, washcloths, and a baby bath tub. What types of "potions & lotions" do I really need? Is it worth buying aromatherapy baby bath or are they all pretty much the same?

  • How do you remove old paint spatters from tile?

We recently bought a house, and the previous homeowners didn't tape the tile when they painted the bathroom. There is old paint on much of the tile. What is the best way to remove it without damaging the tile?
