I hate asking homework questions, so I apologize in advance. I have taken statistics before but for some reason I'm floundering on this section of the study guide for my exam. If someone could please walk me through it step by step, I would be extremely appreciative.

The question:

The standard IQ test has a mean of 101 and a standard deviation of 16. We want to be 98% certain that we are within 4 IQ points of the true mean. Determine the required sample size.

I've been trying the formula n= (z*(SD))/MOE) but I'm getting nowhere. I know the answer is 87, but I have no idea where it is coming from.

I was just diagnosed with anemia a couple of days ago. I got additional blood work done yesterday, and I won't have the results back for at least another week and a half. I'm a distance runner in college, and was told by my doctor not to work out, especially run until they had done further testing and had my results. I am freaking out because I feel like I'm going to lose muscle tone and gain weight! I can barely walk up a slight incline without panting heavily, which is embarrassing all in itself. Additionally I live on the third floor without an elevator so going up and down the stairs nearly kills me.

However, I was wondering if there is any sort of exercise or anything that I can do until I get my results/treatment? I absolutely can not gain any weight or lose my tone, it will greatly affect the remainder of my indoor track performance, and the entirety of my outdoor races. If anyone has any tips or suggestions please let me know, I'm mildly freaking out.

Additionally- I've been a vegetarian for 7 years, but never before have had any issues with anemia. I also was diagnosed as gluten intolerant about 12 months ago, if that could have any effect.

Please help! I hate this so much, I feel so out of shape and tired all of the time, I need some way to work out!!

I live in the U.S. and I have found several Australian stores online, but i could only find season one. Perhaps season 2 hasn't come out yet on dvd, I only want the season one, not the first one, and not the second volume, the second SEASON. Does anyone out there know where to buy them in America? Or will I just have to order online overseas?

I'm working on writing a paper comparing the history of the islanders before and after the Aruacs came in, but i'm having trouble finding good factual information about the culture. So I was wondering if anyone knew of a good site of any really good books to help me with the back-history. All the ones I've found have been pretty basic, no more than a paragraph or two. I'm really striving and doing my research for laptops for my upcoming birthday and a friend turned me onto the Asus Eeepc. I think it would be perfect for what I want in a laptop but the only problem I have is that I'm not sure I would be able to type of the keyboard. I'm wondering if anyone out there knows of a store somewhere in Ohio, or a national chain [I really don't care] where I would be able to go and actually see the full size model and test it out BEFORE I buy it?

I'm basically a makeup up addict. And my friends don't think I can do it, but for lent I'm giving up makeup. If you are here to tell me what a stupid choice that is; you might as well leave now because that's not what I'm asking. But can I do, to still look good? Like are the tricks to still look older without makeup? Tomorrow will be my first day at school with a bare face and I'm slightly freaking out. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks =]

So I know a lot about him, since I'm researching him. But my teacher is forcing us to find a personal, interesting story. Like something super super specific about our person that the class will be attentive to. I've been searching on google/other engines for about 45 minutes now and I can't find anything. Does anyone know a site with a good personal story/memory/interview or something?

A cube 4x4 is dipped into a vat a paint, if you take it apart how many cubes will have 3 sides painted, 2 sides painted, 1 side painted and zero sides. I did the problem for all 3 cubes, but I think I messed up on the 4x4 cube. We were supposed to find a relationship and figure out a formula for finding the number of cubes painted in an X by X cube. Can someone shed some light on this subject? I'm so confused

So obviously, there's a guy. I met him about last year and he was totally in love with me and I openly rejected him for like five months. Now, he has a girlfriend; and I'm totally in love with him. And he keeps hinting that he still likes me, and flirt withs me, but then he'll randomly be like oh I really love my g/f. and he keeps telling me about all the sweet stuff he does for her. But then he tells me how gorgeous I am..and ugh!He's definitely not perfect; he has the lowest self-esteem in the world and is often suicidal but I don't care! What should I do? Helpp please!
