Age range for coloring books?
I'm considering a business that sells fun, yet educational coloring books. To either schools, daycare, or commercial. However with today's fast paced technological culture I'm not too sure if there is a wide age range for children to use coloring books. I'm thinking 3-9, since most older kids may see coloring books as childish and move on to videogames and such.
Beginner books would be about letters and numbers, advanced books would teach some science, history, geography, and basic government. Am I biting more off than I can chew?
Any suggestions would be great!
2 AnswersHobbies & Crafts1 decade agoSoon-to-be-divorced female is interested in me... there's a catch.?
I knew this woman a little bit after high school ended. I actually liked her, and I thought she felt the same way about me. I was too afraid to ask what she felt about me because at that time I was trying to go to college (via online) and still living at home so I could save money. Shorter version: I was pretty darn poor.
When I so much as tried to ask her out, her whole persona changed. She wouldn't say a word to me anymore, talked down to me behind my back as "underachiever" and eventually married a guy who had pretty much had wealthy parents who owned businesses in town. Every now and then we run into each other, it became uncomfortable. She went out of her way to avoid me in the most childish way possible.. though I did the same. She still talked down about me to others.
Years later I finally make decent wages, for the woman and two kids later her husband has been hanging out with other women (rumored to be men also) which is leading to a divorce. Her appearance went from a stunning queen to a frumpy, flabby mess. What is weirder is that she is actually speaking to me again, nicely after all these years. It gets better, she asked me out of the blue via texting to come to her house miles away to "visit for dinner". How the hell do I know her husband lives there or not?
I'm still single, tried some dates here and there but for where I live, it seems that single moms are the only datable option at the moment unless I move to a bigger city or something. Still, I feel insulted that it took me years to get over this woman and now that she's pretty much used and abused by her soon-to-be ex, it's suddenly okay for her to want to have me in her life again. Am I overreacting here or do I have every right to say no and not feel any regrets?
9 AnswersMarriage & Divorce1 decade agoGame Artists in the game industry - need your advice?
This isn't directly aimed to people in the field, but it would really help if someone "inside" can give me a few pointers.
I currently attend a school that's a few hundred miles away from the core of game development (California) and I wanted to know how will an aspiring game artist get an entry level position?
I've tried some job searches, and contacts from game related jobs and the leads I get ask for Junior or Senior game artists, or have 2-5 year minimum industry experience. I wasn't expected to start out big, but I'm getting the impression that if I were to find entry level I'd have to be a game tester despite having a BA in 3D Art and Design.
I've been planning to attend job fairs for game artists but I can never find the time (or the funds) to attend one. Would I be wasting my time going to these?
The usual send your demo reel/online portfolio isn't going to be enough, I need to get my face out there but I just need to find a good place to start.
Thank you.
2 AnswersOther - Careers & Employment1 decade agoStarting a book, suggestions?
I've taken several English and literature classes in college, and I'm an art student major. I suddenly had the urge to write some ideas I have into novels, but I haven't the foggiest idea where to start after the writing phase is finished.
I know what I want to write, it's a sci-fi fantasy based novel that will have illustrations every few pages.
My concerns are:
How many pages should I limit too?
Where would I go to get it published and proofread (MS word and my brain can only go so far.)?
Will it cost me a ton of money?
Should I get a patent for my book before I publish?
Thank you for your time.
