trig function problem?
An animal population oscillates over an eight-year period between a low of 1200 at time t = 0 and a
high of 3000 four years later.
(a) Model this behavior with a sinusoidal function P = f(t), representing the animal population at
time t.
(b) Find the t-values when the population equals 2000.
thank you:)

A manager at Saks Fifth Avenue wants to estimate the number of customers to expect on the last shopping day before Christmas. She collects data from three previous years, and determines that the crowds follow the same general pattern. When the store opens at 10 am, 500 people enter, and the total number in the store doubles every 46 minutes. When the number of people in the store reaches 7,000 security guards need to be stationed at the entrances to control the crowds.
At what time t should the guards be commissioned?

A ballet dancer jumps into the air. The height, h(t) , in feet, of the dancer at time t, in seconds since the start of the jump, is given by h(t) = - 16t^2 + 12.800t
How much time in seconds is the dancer in the air?
Approximate all answers to three decimal places.
What is the maximum height of the jump and when does the maximum height of the jump occur?

CaO can be used as a drying agent. One such application occurs when water is added to dry concrete or cement. The reaction that occurs is
CaO(s)+H2O(l)<=>Ca(OH)2(s)

The product is called slaked lime.
Assuming standard temperature, calculate ΔStotal for this reaction using data from the table below.
(sorry the table is kinda hard to read but i numbered everything up :))
Substance
1. CaO (s)
2. H2O (l)
3. Ca(OH)2 (s)
S° [J/(K mol)]
1. 39.9
2. 69.9
3. 83.4
ΔH° (fahrenheit) [kJ/mol]
1. -635.1
2. -285.8
3. -986.1

1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agohow should i attempt/start this inverse function problem?
h(x) = ln(1-2x)
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoneed a little help on inverse functions?
how can you check that these functions are inverses:
f(x)= x/4 - 3/2 & g(t)= 4(t + 3/2)
h(x) = √2x & k(t) = t^2/2, for x, t>0
i really do not understand how to check that they are inverses.. im not sure where to start..

A football player kicks a ball at an angle of 37 above the ground with an initial speed of 20 meters/second. The height, h, as a function of the horizontal distance traveled, d, is given by :
h= 0.75d- 0.0192d^2
a)when the ball hits the ground, how far is it from the spot where the football player kicked it?
b) What is he maximum height the ball reaches during its flight. Using completing the square.
c)What is the horizontal distance the ball has traveled when it reaches its maximum height?

2 AnswersToys1 decade agoI truly love my Dad but I don't know how to show him.?
Since I was a child my Dad and I have never gotten close. Recently, my mother moved out on us due to mental health/issues. Here and there my Dad and I give each other hard times and tend to argue about small things which eventually leads to a bigger problem. In the long run, I know that my Dad truly loves me despite all the mean things he has ever called me. I truly love my Dad as well but due to my stubbornness I try not to show him. I know that I could be a better daughter to him but I choose not to because my Dad is very hard to understand. I know he's trying to be a better Dad to me and be apart of my life as well/help me out. When I look back on the past, I know that he was always trying but I was simply not letting him be a father to me because I would make rude comments, etc. Deep down I feel bad for my Dad, I know he is living a hard life. I should have been there more for him during those times in need. I wish I can fix the past but I can't, I can only focus on the future. My main issue is, I'm coming to the point in life where I need to start living on my own and not in his household. I feel like I can't just neglect and leave him because I'm afraid he will become depressed. I don't want to keep putting his burdens on top of my burdens. I feel like every time I cry, I'm crying for my Dad's misery and the times I hurt him inside. I just want to become a better daughter and truly tell him that he means a lot to me and I love him a lot because he truly is a great Dad. Any advice for what I should do?
