  • Comment on my baby s eating schedule and amounts?

I m a first time mom with a 9 month old, and I m worried about what she eats (and doesn t). She drinks two bottles a day(about 10 oz total)...when she wakes up at 8am and one around dinner time. Mid morning she gets 2.5 oz fruit mixed with oatmeal & banana cereal (I guess and about an oz of milk mixed in). Mid afternoon she eats 6.5 oz of veggies (a small and medium container) and in the later evening she eats 6.5 oz of fruits. Why won t she drink more formula? Am I giving her too much solids?

  • In your opinion, why do you think obgyns(and the women) choose to get induced if there is no medical emergency?

I was surprised to find out so many women are against inductions simply if the baby hasn't come after 40-41 weeks.

Why do you think obgyns DO them if there is no emergsncy?(I have my own ideas. I'm curious what others will say)

Brand new Lenovo ideapad 110-15isk 80UD Windows 10 is running slow?

My husband and I picked out a laptop for my father for his birthday a month ago. It has 6 gbs for RAM And I think 700 gbs or 1 tbs of storage. Come to find out it has always ran slow. Slower than my 8 year old pink laptop he had been using. It is almost completely clean.

  • Is it normal for raw chicken juices to irritate skin?

It seems like every time I handle raw chicken, my hands get irritated where I used to have ezcema. I had chicken last night and now I have a few bumps on my previously healed finger. Could it be a chicken allergy or is it normal for juices to irritate old or current ezcema?

  • How do you deal with criticism about parenting?

I'm a shy woman who easily gets her feelings hurt and gets down easily. I have a cute almost 6 month old and I'm struggling with comments, suggesting, and criticism.

My husband's grandparents watches our baby once a week, and on Monday she practically yelled at me for not putting our baby in a snowsuit for the 20 minute drive. a) That isn't recommended. b) our Caddy gets to 90 degrees. She is fine. But his grandma won't listen! She keeps talking about it! I really think they make her too warm. I was so upset and annoyed that I almost called my mother at work and email my MIL (it was her mother). She acted like we are abusing her!

Then there is my mother (in her low 60s) who has opinions about everything...much of which is either wrong or outdated. They act like I'm a bad parent for not warming her bottles (doctor said it was ok), put her in her jacket outside (again..that isn't recommended). She acts like it's terrible that at 2 months I didn't start feeding her cereal and keeps commenting that by now my baby should be eating all the baby foods. She babysat for like 30 years and thinks that her experience is more important than science.

If it was one comment, once and done, I could deal with it. But with my mother and my husband's grandma, they KEEP on about the same things over and over again.

  • What is your deductible and out of pocket maximums for you as an individual and for your family?

I'm trying to figure out how my family's plan stacks up against others' and if ours is reasonable or not. People always talk about high deductibles and such and I always want to know how much is "too much" for them since opinions are always subjective to the individual

  • Can I wipe an old laptop(windows vista) without the installer disk if I have a disk for Windows 7?

I have an old laptop that I cannot restore because I never set a restore point. I know I can wipe it completely clean but I need to reinstall windows (vista) with the disk. I don't believe my laptop ever came with one. Anyway, I have a windows 7 disk that I had bought a few years ago for the laptop(that I have on it right now). Can I use this disk instead?

  • How can I restore an old laptop without a restore point?

I have an old Sony Vaio laptop (about 8 years old) that badly needs to be wiped clean. The problem is that when I had it back in high school I never created a restore point, and without one I can't restore it to an earlier point (I see nothing to restore it to factory settings). It was originally a Vista, but I purchased Windows 7 in college for it. Would it work to "Reinstall Windows" since I have the windows 7 disk (but not the original disk for the laptop)? I'd rather do a restore than a reinstall though because of all the files. My husband suggested looking online for windows vista but I'm guessing you would need to pay for a new disk/download?

    Any suggestions would be appreciated

  • What can you take for pain while nursing/pumping?

I've gone back to work and I pump for my 3 month old. Now that I'm working, my lower back hurts ALOT. What can I safely take for it? I'm worried because I've had back problems for years and the only thing that would work to my knowledge was excedrin (yes, I know..aspirin so I can't take it) and hydrocodone from my dad (which I obviously don't have a supply of and is probably bad anyway while nursing)

  • Question for stay at home mothers/fathers?

Do you always love staying home with your child(ren) all day? By the time my husband gets done with work (around 4:30), I kinda feel like I'm going nuts. I want someone to "relieve" me for a while. The same goes for weekends.....my husband was gone with my father all weekend and it's Sunday and I've been waiting since like 11am for them to get back (its now after 6pm).

My mother makes me feel like a terrible person/mother for not liking being with my baby all day long. "I just don't understand you sometimes"

I'm a first time mom to a 3 month old and sometimes she grates on my nerves when I'm home alone all day and she spends all her waking time wanting to be held and if shes asleep and I put her down, she wakes up and cries til I hold her. I exclusively pump so it's is especially troubling when she's crying to be held and I need to pump so she has milk to eat.

I feel like my mom somehow has this view of motherhood that you are supposed to always be happy and never upset or annoyed

  • Is it legal for a landlord to refuse to lease a 2 bedroom apartment to a married couple and one baby?

Is that normal? My husband and I are trying to find a two bedroom apartment because I am pregnant. He called about one and explained (since the landlord wanted to know right away) that it would be him, me, and that I was pregnant. The landlord said sorry, no, because he only allows two people to a two bedroom apartment. Does that make any sense at all? He only accepts roommates or what?

I know that for my current apartment of 1 bedroom, they allow two adults plus a baby under 9 months. That, I can understand. But it is illogical for this issue.....In order to be married and have one child here, I need to rent a 3 bedroom????

  • Parents, which do you prefer? Convertible cribs and car seats or normal ones? What if you have another child?

I'm going to be a first time mom, and my husband and I are trying to figure out which is better.more useful...a convertible crib that will turn into a day bed and then a normal bed or just a normal crib and then buy a regular bed when the baby/toddler outgrows the crib?

Similarily, which do you prefer? a infant car seat, a bigger car seat for toddlers, and a booster seat when the child is older or just buy a 3-1 that has all of them?

The problem is if you have more than one child and they are less than like 6 years apart. Would you just buy convertible stuff for the second baby too since the first would still be using his/hers? But if you buy everything separably, then the first will be done using it by the time there is another baby.and you only need to buy 1 of everything, not 2 sets of convertible stuff.

What is your opinion? In the long run, are the convertible ones cheaper than if you buy everything separately and if you have more than one child? It kind of looks that way by the prices.

  • How long does a hotel and caterer keep you card on file after your wedding and be able to take money out?

My husband and I got married a little over a month ago. We had our reception at a Radisson, and they catered. We paid for everything (our file says paid but I may have lost that sheet) beforehand but then noticed a $2000 withdrawn was missing from my husbands account, meaning we had the $2000 again. Now, over a month later, the Radisson made a $2500 withdrawal from our account. Can they still do that after so much time?

  • How do you deal with people who show up to your wedding but didn't RSVP? Where would they sit?

I am planning on assigning people to tables for my wedding. What happens if people come that didn't RSVP (though I am trying to contact everyone)? When I am planning a seating chart, do I leave a few random empty spots at a few tables (like a empty spot here...one empty spot there...) or fill up each table and hope that the amount that comes but did not RSVP is the same as the amount of people that say they would come but do not?
