Is winning the primary guarantees nomination for the party?
I was just wondering, since the Republican primary is going on here in the US. If Mitt Romney wins the primary does it guarantee him the nomination on the day of the Republican Convention in Florida? or they can nominate someone else to represent the party?

3 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoIs Self Replicating Machines the future of space exploration?
I've been reading about this and it seems to be the most logical way to explore and specifically a way to find other life out there in our universe. What is your take on it and where are we right now in terms of this technology?

2 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoIs S.E.T.I. a real effective way of finding intelligent life out in the universe?
S.E.T.I. has been operating now for the past 50+ years and you would think they should have come up with something to present the public, but so far the best one I can recall is the "wow" signal. Other than that it's been so eerily quiet, is it because of lack of funding? or lack of technology? I know that 50 years of sending and searching for signal is barely scratching the surface of the universe. Is there something fundamental they're missing? They had that SETI at home to help out crunching the numbers but it's still has no result whatsoever. It would be nice to know the answer to the question "are we alone?" in our life time.
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoIs it possible that the inner rocky planets use to be moons of the gas giants?
I was just wondering if its possible for the rocky planets Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars use to be moons of the gas giants like Jupiter and Saturn. Ever since the Kepler telescope has been discovering Jupiter mass planets orbiting very close to their host star made me think that our own gas giants were once close to the sun and just migrated outward and in turn some of the moons pulled away and created its own orbit around the sun.
2 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoWho is the next Carl Sagan?
Who is the next Carl Sagan? I got in to Astronomy because of the Cosmos. Carl Sagan is just an inspiring person to me, I just don't see anyone out there right now that has the same impact to promote Astronomy like how Carl Sagan did even to the very last moment of his life.
2 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoHow Accurate is the Science in TBBT sitcom?
I love The Big Bang Theory TV sitcom, I think it's the best show out there to date. I was just wondering the accuracy of the science they shoot there. It seems like in every scene there will be comments connected to Physics, Astronomy, Biology and Chemistry. Although it's a TV show I do hope they research their facts before putting it out there to at least in some ways maybe inform the uninformed properly. So how accurate are their lines.
Bazinga! =)
4 AnswersOther - Science9 years agoDo you think Drakes Equation need some tinkering?
When I started getting into astronomy the famous Frank Drake equation is one of the thing that fascinated me. But as time goes by and with some more discoveries and research being done in and out of our galaxy, we tend to discover new things which I think affects the equation. Do you think there should be some changes needed to be done to it to maybe increase or decrease the probability?
what is Drake Equation? here's a link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drake_equation
11 AnswersAstronomy & Space9 years agoCredit Card Form with Personal ID legality?
Hello, I was trying to book a party for a banquet in San Francisco, CA and they asked me for a deposit and I told them i'll be paying with my credit card. They e-mailed me a credit card form where I have to put in my credit card # and personal information on it and I need to fax it back to them. I was just wondering if this is legal? I thought there's a law where merchants shouldn't be keeping documents with customer credit card information. I was trying to research some information about it but I can't find any, not sure if I have to put it to their attention or report them. thanks!
