  • Going to London on NYE?

Hi, this will be my first time going to London for NYE, and wondering what the best way to go about it is? Obviously traffic will be so bad taking my car is probably not an option? Staying in a hotel also looks to be very expensive, but there are no trains much after midnight to get me back to Kent (South East). How do you go about going? Kinda asking for peoples experiences here aha...

  • Is it reasonable to expect my GF not to get a weekend job?

I am at uni, but I make the 4 hour trip home to see my gf every two weeks for the weekend. Before I was at uni we used to see each other every weekend. Now she is considering a weekend job, so I won't see her for 4 to 6 months because I won't be able to see her at weekends. I explained this and she came up with that it was my choice to go to uni and she didn't say anything. I can't help thinking that that's completely different, as I make the effort to see her and even if I wasn't at uni, I still wouldn't be able to see her at the weekends. I tried to get her to promise me she wouldn't get a weekend job, but she won't. I don't know how to feel, I'm worried that she's ok with us spending that long apart, and that she won't show me just a little commitment after being together over a year. All opinions appreciated.

  • How to make my girlfriend feel special again?

I recently ended up having an argument with my girlfriend. We have been going out for a year, and I really love her and would do anything to make things right again. Basically I felt like I was making a lot of commitments and putting in a lot of effort to see her and that she wouldn't commit to anything, not even to seeing me when I make it home every 2 weeks. Anyhow things got worse and worse and I nearly ended up losing her over skype, I just wanted her to make a commitment to me to show me that I do mean something to her, but she wouldn't and I got angry and upset. Anyhow I went to bed that night and felt awful, and didn't sleep at all, and basically after a day of worrying myself sick and an evening of apologising (because now in hindsight I know that it was stupid for me to risk everything for some stupid commitment rubbish) I managed to get her to give me another chance. I will be seeing her next weekend, but she says she isn't looking forward to it, and that she doesn't want to hug or anything, and that I don't make her feel special any more. I have no idea how to make a difference and make her feel properly special again, I have probably 2 hours tops (despite 8 hours of public transport to get there and back) to try and make her feel special and happy again, and I haven't the slightest idea of what to do. I considered buying her something, but I don't know what, or if she will respond badly and say I can't buy her back. I am a student, so I have very little money.

  • Corsa C fuel filler cap?

I currently own a 2004 Vauxhall Corsa C and my brother owns a 2002 Corsa C and inside the fuel filler cap door there is a small plastic object clipped to the inside of the door. It looks to be some kind of tool, but I cannot think what it could be for. I have tried the car manual, and the Haynes manual and was not able to find anything on it. If anyone has any suggestions as to what it is, that would be greatly appreciated. Sorry for the rather vague description of the item, but it is hard to describe and anyone who owns or has owned a Corsa C will almost certainly know the part I am talking about. Thanks in advance!

  • Help with S2 question?

I am currently stuck on a statistics 2 (further maths A2) question. I can only imagine that the question is flawed, as I cannot see any way of doing the question with the data given. The question reads:

The probability of a champion hitting treble 20 in a darts game within 3 throws is 0.06875.

A group of 80 champions each played a game once.

Using a suitable approximation, find the probability that more than 7 of them hit the bull within 3 throws.

The only thing I can imagine is that they mean the triple 20 instead of the bull.

  • Help on this practical please (AS Physics)! What do I do?

I have been asked by my teacher to write a case study on geophysical surveys, no trouble there, I have done that bit, but I also have to plan a practical to do the following "By undertaking electrical measurements of a length of wire identify the type of wire (alloy) from which it is made". I gather that it's something to do with resistance (I think), but I have not got much more than that at the moment, the only thing I could think of was trying to find some sort of resistivity index for materials and find the resistivity index of the sample, but that didn't go too well. Also, Wikipedia is banned as a source, and we have to give sources for all of our data. Any help would be massively appreciated, thanks.

  • How do I stop my computer automatically restarting?

I have a windows 8 laptop, and when it decides it wants to restart to install updates, it gives you a reminder at 15 and then 5 minutes, and the shuts down, with no further warnings, and no option to stop it from doing this. I tried looking in the settings tab but couldn't find out how to stop it. If anyone knows could they please tell me, as it is annoying when my computer wants to restart and I want to use it. Thanks.

  • On windows 8, when I move the mouse, another app is bought up?

I have a windows 8 laptop, and when I move the mouse (usually the touchpad), another window is brought up from the top left hand side of the screen. Is there any way to stop this as it is infuriating? I realise this sounds rediculous to anyone who hasn't used windows 8, but anyone who has will probably know exactly what I am complaining about. Thanks.

  • Which graphic calculator should I get?

I am looking for a graphic calculator, and I have no idea which one I should buy. I currently use the Casio fx-991ES PLUS scientific calculator and love the way it works. I have seen some people using graphic calculators and they seem very impressive, so I would like to investigate further by purchasing one. I am currently in year 12 and studying maths, further maths, physics and DT at school, an whilst I appreciate that a graphical calculator would be way above this level, I would still like to try using one and see what it does for me. I will hopefully study Aeronautical Engineering at university. I really like Casio products, but if there are any alternatives that are good I am not adverse to trying them. I am looking for a fairly basic graphic calculator to get me started (I would still like a good one though), and then I can move on from there if I want to. If anyone has any suggestions, I would be happy to hear them. Thanks.
