Why is the stationary bike's calorie count so low?
From what I've read a 1 mile walk in 15 minutes burns 100 calories.
Biking for 15 minutes is said to burn nearly twice that much. 180 calories.
I did the stationary bike for 17 minutes 4.7 miles burned 100 calories.
The online chart for biking this amount equates it to 291 calories.
4 AnswersDiet & Fitness2 weeks agoHow did did so many white Notre Dame players in late 80's early 90's play in the NFL?
I've been getting many 88-90 Notre Dame football games on my Ytube. Fun.
Nearly every starter on those defensive teams played in the NFL--and most of them were white.
Today what position would they play? Or would they play at all? Teams soon began moving faster black players from offense to defense. No match for brutes named Bolcar, Stonebreaker, and Kowalkowski.
Would they be at different schools? Indiana, Cincinnati? Michigan State? Today aside from OL/QB few white high school players are rated higher than 3-star. In the 80's the above names were 5-star All-Americans.

1 AnswerMovies4 months agoHow would QB's like Drew Brees have fared in the 70's 80's NFL?
Modern rule changes open up the passing game, protect the QB.
One reason Brees has lasted 25 seasons [25?] is because he rarely gets hit.
The one direct sack he took last week broke his ribs.
6 AnswersFootball (American)5 months agoAre democrats or republicans to blame for America's transition to hip-hop culture?
Bare bones assumption. I was a kid.
The early 90's Democrats encourage, pander to African Americans to stay black*
Or perhaps fear tied into early stages being politically correct. Advising them to act white brands them hypocrites, lost votes.
There has been much callback lately to 90's Dem's promotion of black single motherhood being blamed for today's issues.
Currently we are at the pinnacle of leftist pandering [or cowardice?]. They need 2020 election votes. BLM rioters are dragging people from their car. And the latter, the victims are being charged/arrested. One chirp by a leftist politician to 'stop, please' may cost a vote. I digress
For republicans, hip hop culture opened up new markets to urban African Americans. And plenty of white kids. All about profits.
Whose to blame?
3 AnswersPolitics7 months agoI need help finding this type of 80's TV commerical?
Classic 70's/80's ad featured handsome businessman running late/nimble through multiple situations. Check watch dash from office building, misses bus/taxi/etc, makes it just in time. whew.
Perhaps men's deodorant, or watch ad?

Recall Keith McCants lost a ton on McDonalds franchises. How in the world does that happen?
3 AnswersOther - Sports7 months agoHow much are 80's artists paid for overplayed syndicated radio songs?
Any Fm station, and/or place of business. Hotel California, Tainted Love, Jack and Diane. Every hour on the hour for 25 years. It's quite disturbing actually. Is Don Henley or John Mellencamp in control of the songs frequency, a competition of sorts? Either way, f them.

It was used with Gregor in The Metamorphosis.
Frank Wheeler character from Revolutionary Road did this as well.

6 AnswersFootball (American)8 months agoWhy did mainstream media ideology/agenda swing from right wing in to left?
1970's -1990's right wing propaganda. 2000's-2020 left wing propaganda.
Both are on same team. Ratings. Profit.
Did they figure out how to tie in Left wing ideology with corp marketing. No-one is excluded. [In Mad Men, the leftist copywriter touches on this.]
The safest and most efficient form of PR. While reaching nearly every market.
Also, who back in 70's/80's was in control? Haven't the global elite always leaned left?

3 AnswersGovernment8 months agoBarack Obama being hailed as the most corrupt president of all time. Is this accurate? ?
This coming from centrist sources not just radical right. Most of our presidents were corrupt to some degree. What made him worse? On the surface, he seems like a decent dude.
7 AnswersPolitics8 months agoWhy do some players who make it to the major leagues career's end soon after?
I like going to baseball cube and checking out old amateur player bio/stats. Who made it. Who didn't. Interesting.
I noticed many who made it to the big leagues, saw limited action and either quit or were released a year or two later. What gives? Was this likely because minor leagues/AAA paid bunk?
Today if one gets called up, aren't they are paid the next season, or more on MLB level?
2 AnswersBaseball9 months agoDo smoking cigarettes contribute to stomach bulge?
Short term. Due to swallowing air/etc.
Trying to figure out main factor.
I sit at computer 8+ hours per day for job. I eat healthy/workout. I also smoke a few times per week.
The days of the above, my stomach bulges. The days I do not work/sit/workout my stomach flattens. I even ate unhealthy, and drank beer the past 3 nights. Flat.
This AM stomach was flat. Sat 8 hours. Diet limited to an apple, spinach, bowl of oatmeal. I walked 2+ miles. Smoked 3 cigarettes. Bulge.
Cheers.
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness9 months agoWhat percentage of black men are in jail for nonviolent crimes such as drug possession..?
Or i/e how many convicted felon's could be in the workforce with penal reform?
I'm sure many aren't good folk, but there's a handful, with stringent drug laws that got a bad break.
1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police9 months agoIs communist state possible with less focus on identity politics/free speech?
I'm in the arts. Many of us just want to create. **** politics.
Leftism is no different than capitalist greed. Pandora's box. A more leftist state will only make current cancel culture worse would it not? It's already beyond bubble burst.
5 AnswersPolitics10 months agoStomach bulge from sitting, diet or workout?
On weeks I work from desk, workout w abs, and eat healthy my stomach protrudes.
I'm in good shape. 6'0 180.
This week, it took 2 days to go flat, after a night of eating/drinking. Wtf. Over-hydration perhaps? I drink big cups of tea during week.
