If Jesus was smart enough to not involve Himself in politics, then why...?
are so many American Christians politically active in trying to legislate their beliefs? Isn't pursuing a non-religiously based politics the Christ-like thing to do?
17 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoWould Jesus vote for a National Health Insurance to give free care to the poor, sick, and needy?
I think He would. Jesus has commanded us to help the poor, the unfortunate. I have read nothing in Jesus' words that would deny care to those who can not afford it. Isn't passing a "public option" the Christian thing to do?
32 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoI'm working out the menu for a vegetarian restaurant, what do you want to be on it?
I will probably be opening this place in 9 months or so. Just in the starting phases. Affordability is high on my list. So, what do you want to eat?
21 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoDoes Dan Quayle feel a little vindicated?
Now that he is not the most moronic, incompetent person to have run for Vice President in the modern age?
As a follow up, is this the first time you have ever seen Y!A politics not completly overrun with republicans?
9 AnswersElections1 decade agoIs Palin still a "younger, prettier Margret Thatcher"?
Jack Kelly in the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette:
Conservatives see in Sarah Palin Ronald Reagan in a dress, the brains and backbone of Margaret Thatcher in a younger, prettier package. The Grand Old Party has a bright new face.
Wow. Mrs Thatcher should be pretty offended by that statement. Thatcher was a tough as nails economic and political conservative, and her contribution to the downfall of the Soviet Union has not been given nearly as much credit as she deserves.
Palin's blow dried vapid smile would wither and die in the presence of someone so commanding and intelligent. And "Regan in a dress"? How can you compare the two western politicians most responsible for bringing down the Soviets to someone who can't even make a coherent statement on foreign policy?
14 AnswersElections1 decade agoHave you watched the Palin/ Couric interview?
I watched it tonight after the debate. Wow. I was actually appalled at the incoherence of Palin's answers. I have to say, though, that although Couric's tone was civil and polite, her eyes shone with a sneering contempt that would make anyone uncomfortable.
But that's how politics goes. Sometimes you have to talk with people who you don't like and who don't like you. It seemed to me that Palin came across as ignorant of economics and foreign policy, and rather unprepared in general.
What do you think?
17 AnswersElections1 decade agoWhy has there been no coverage of the Alaskan anti-Palin rally?
We all saw the news reports of Palin's big welcome home rally a couple of weeks ago. Well, a small group of women calling themselves Alaskan Women Reject Palin organized a rally, expecting a couple hundred people might show up. The rally drew over 1400 people, most carrying homemade signs. It was the largest political rally ever in the state of Alaska.
So here is what i guess is the real question i'm asking: If the mainstream media is so liberally biased, as the conservatives always claim, why was there such a big deal made of her welcome home rally, and no coverage of the larger anti-Palin rally one week later?
17 AnswersElections1 decade agoDoy you think the Falcons have a chance at winning their division this year?
Our o-line looked better than i expected. Matt Ryan looked comfortable on the field. Thank god we picked up Turner.
As a follow up, after today's games, is the South the toughest overall division in the NFC this year?

2 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoProblem with fujifilm E500- write errors and card errors?
I have 2 different cards (xd) for this camera, and both cards bring up read error or card error when viewing pictures after three or four pictures. When taking pics, it works for the first one and then says write error. Is it the camera, or will a new card solve the problem?
1 AnswerCameras1 decade agoHillary supporters, do you realize that for the good of the democratic party, we have to come together...?
around the clear winner of the primaries, Barack Obama. By any reasonable count, he is the clear winner. We must come together as a party and stop fighting amongst ourselves, or we will hand the Presidency to McCain. Im not saying Clinton should drop out, she has every right to run in the remaining primaries, but she has no real chance of gaining the nomination.
We must stand in a united front against the continuation of Bush's disasterous policies for another four years.
Barack Obama will be the Democratic nominee for President. Will you give him your vote in november, for the good of the United States of America?
21 AnswersElections1 decade agoI am a chef thinking about moving to Austin. What kind of money can i expect to make?
I will be looking for an exec or chef cuisine position. I'm not really an office kind of guy, though i know how to do it. I prefer to work for independents, though i've got no problem taking a corp. line job for a few months till i find the right job.

It's the same thing, yo! But if i run an app with pork belly, it doesn't sell. But call it bacon, and off it goes.
9 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoWhat the *ell happened to the "Wall of Separation between Church and State"?
Why is everyone blathering on about "God bless America," "God Damn America," and the like. We are a secular state. Go in your room and close the door for your relationship with God. We as a country have no official religion, nor should we, nor should any religious test be required for public service. Not my words, but the words of Jesus and the Founders of America.

12 AnswersVegetarian & Vegan1 decade agoDo you like vegetables in your chicken and dumplings?
My grandma put veggies (celery, carrots, onions) in her's, but lots of friends said no veggies in theirs growing up. I'm running it as a special tonight (nanna would be proud of it), but i can't make up my mind on the veg.
9 AnswersOther - Food & Drink1 decade agoCan anyone tell me what a "True Conservative" is?
I don't think such a person exists, or ever has. Please let me know if you can come up with one. I know plenty of people will say Regan, but he signed a law granting amnesty for illegal immigrants, withdrew from Lebannon after the bombing of the Marine barracks, doubled federal spending during his presidency and raised the annual deficit from $73 bil to $153 bil. So what defines a "True Conservative"?
11 AnswersPolitics1 decade agoNow that John McCain is the clear front runner in the Republican nomination, who ...?
would be the best choice for a running mate to help unite the clearly fractured party. I think Huckabee would be the best choice from a national strategy point of view, but i like the idea of McCain-Paul.
