  • Why Is Yahoo sending spam to my inbox?

They have a constant stream of "SPAM" labelled as "Sponsored" coming into my inbox. There does not seem to be any way to stop this, and I don't want to receive it. It is bad enough when others send rubbish, without Yahoo doing it deliberately. To clarify. I DON'T want it, DON'T need it and WILL make a point of avoiding these companies if I should ever need anything that they might supply. THIS IS AN ANNOYANCE AND COUNTER PRODUCTIVE FOR THE "SPAM ADVERTISERS".

Do YOU know how to get rid of this, short of changing address away from Yahoo!? I have had this email address for at least 20 years - there is no excuse for spamming customers.

  • Laptop, Netbook, or Tablet?

I am in my 50's, PC literate, and have decided that I need something in addition to my desktop, as I'm disabled, and sometimes want to access the internet/my diary/my email accounts while on the sofa or even in bed! I might use it outside the home, but not often, and I have wireless broadband in the house. I might also need to use it while an in-patient in hospital, but battery life will be an issue there.

I'll probably still use the desktop for things that use the keyboard intensely, such as writing documents or spreadsheets, but use the new thingummy to read them. I may consider ebooks, but I actually like the feel of paper, so this won't be a major use! I'd also like it to be able to make my Palm pilot redundant, as it needs evpensive repairs.

SO, which would you buy in my position? Cash is an issue, but not the only one. I can probably afford one of the cheaper laptops or netbooks, but I'd like to get the most value for money from whatever I buy, and my limited usage probably means that all these would suit up to a point.

I'd really appreciate advice from someone who has experience on using more than one of these, so that I can avoid an expensive mistake!

(And you never know, someone may be offering the right thing on Freegle!)

  • Why is my leg suddenly misaligned?

I wear a leg brace as I shattered my left lower leg 7 years ago, and the treatment was only partially successful. After a minor fall a month ago, I found the brace was no longer centred on my shin bone, when correctly fitted on my foot, but the brace has been checked and has NOT been distorted. I was previously diagnosed with mild/mod hip Osteoarthritis, and my GP sent me for a new hip x-ray, as there was extra hip pain. Now (18 mo from prev diagnosis) it is mod/severe, and I am told that this is why my brace no longer fits. I can understand that the foot and knee are now at a different angle to the hip, but why would there be a distortion between the knee and foot? My GP says it is all because my hip is worse - I remain unsure!

As an additional factor, I am taking a high dosage of Fentanyl, and have a pain disorder, meaning that it sometimes doesn't get through, and sometimes won't turn off! I have broken bones previously and been unaware.
