Why does Blue-ray do this?
OK, I bought a 1080i 42 inch TV and purchased a Blue-ray DVD recently. You cannot hook a Blue-ray to a non-he def TV. So, my question is: why do the people that make Blue-ray discs (most anyway) think it's cool to make the picture widescreen (2.55:1) to play on a 16:9 TV? I don't know of any 2.55:1 TV's out there, do you? Fully 30% of my very expensive screen real estate is blank!
