Caught shoplifting in quebec?
I was caught stealing some stuff from a pharmacy in Montreal, worth less than $20 total. It was an accident - I put it in my bag and intended to pay for it but forgot...I even bought shampoo there, I just forgot about the stuff in my bag. I'm 18, a student, have no record (not even a speeding ticket). Before I left the store the security guy asked "are you sure you paid for everything?" and I said "yes" and then "oh wait, ****, no, can I pay now?" and he said no and took me into the back, took down my info, then they had me pay for the items and said that someone might contact me to press charges. What do you think will happen? I'm so scared and really don't want a criminal record!!
1 AnswerLaw Enforcement & Police7 years agoChanging cartilage piercing before it's healed?
Ok so I got my cartilage pierced like...maybe 3 weeks ago? And it's definitely not healed yet, so I know I shouldn't change the earring, but I just started a new job where I'm not allowed to have it. How bad would it be to just change it to a clear retainer and then keep that in until it heals? Would that work if I was super vigilant about cleaning it or should I just give up and take it out and let it close?
3 AnswersOther - Skin & Body8 years agoWhat to wear to a jumper schooling show?
Okay so I'm going to a jumper show at Iron Horse next weekend (it's a schooling show, but a fairly serious one) and I don't know what I should wear...normally for schooling shows, polo shirts are okay, right? But it's going to be cold out...what should I wear? I could also just wear my hunter stuff (show shirt and show jacket).
What do you guys think?
5 AnswersHorses8 years agoI just fainted, what should I do?
I woke up this morning around 10, went outside to have a cigarette with my friend, and immediately was not feeling very well. I really needed to sit down, so I went inside and sat at my kitchen counter with a glass of water. The next thing I remember after that was waking up on the floor surrounded by puddles. My friend said that I was lying there kind of twitching for a while. I've never fainted before in my life...should I go see a doctor? Or is it okay not to, since it seems to be kind of a one time thing?
Also, currently I feel okay but still have a massive headache (my friend said that I hit the counter on my way down, so probably has something to do with that) and I'm having difficulty concentrating.
5 AnswersOther - General Health Care9 years agoDressage question - free walk loop?
So for a dressage show I'm doing at the beginning of August, one of the movements is "K X H loop in free walk". I know how to ride the free walk but I've only ever done it across the diagonal...how do you ride a loop like this with correct bend while keeping such a long rein? :S
5 AnswersHorses9 years agoHow to convince them not to breed this horse?
Okay...I'm sorry if this gets long!
So I train a few horses at a barn near my house, and one of them is a miniature horse who is pretty young and was abused by her old owner. The people who own her now have hired me to get her to be more trusting and relaxed around people. She's doing okay but is still EXTREMELY skittish (and their two kids who have no clue how to behave around horses and like to chase her around the paddock for fun don't exactly help...)
Now they've told me that they want to breed her because "there are two kids and only one pony, and that doesn't seem fair!" They don't know anything about horse breeding (they told me this themselves). I also know nothing about horse breeding or foals and I don't want them to end up with a foal who's obviously not going to be used for anything other than a toy for people who don't know how to work with horses. It just worries me that there is so much that could go wrong here with this horse who's unlikely to get the right kind of vet care, etc (considering that she hasn't seen the farrier since I started working there, despite my suggestions...)
So how do I convince them not to breed her? I don't want to be rude or demanding and lose my job, but I really think this a terrible idea :/
15 AnswersHorses10 years agoHow to thin out a horse's mane without pulling it?
I have a draft cross mare with a very thick mane...is there any way that I can get it thin enough to braid without having to pull it? She won't tolerate me pulling it at ALL - as soon as I try she tosses her head, walks around, etc.
Any ideas?
3 AnswersHorses10 years agoWhat protective boots should I use for cross-country?
I've been riding eventer for about a year and half now, and I'm finally starting to get my own horse into it (before I was just using lesson horses). I plan on showing her this summer, and I noticed that all the horses at my lesson barn wear boots when they're jumping cross country. I've never put boots on my horse before, but then again we've never jumped cross country before. Do I need to use boots, and what ones should I use?
PS we'd just be showing entry level, nothing higher than that this year
11 AnswersHorses1 decade agoMaintaining impulsion while working in an outline?
My horse is quite lazy and I have trouble keeping her impulsion going while I ask her to bend her head. Any pressure from the bit just slows her down, rather than connects her, and even though I keep my leg on she doesn't really respond to it. When I push her forward, she comes up out of the outline. It seems like she can do one of two things: either she can work with her head down, or she can have impulsion. How do I put these things together?
She's a Belgian-TB cross. She's almost 13 but has only been asked to do anything beyond walk trot canter with her nose out since I got her, when she was around 11.
I've only been riding dressage for a year or so, so I apologize if any of that isn't worded correctly but I'm sure you all know what I mean!
3 AnswersHorses1 decade agoHow much more should I feed my horse since I'm exercising her more?
So my mare is right now just eating hay, freechoice, and is turned out 24/7. She hasn't really been worked over the winter (ridden once or twice a week, lightly) but I'm starting to get her into shape for low-level eventing. I know I should increase her feed - right now she's doing pretty well on just the hay, she's a really easy keeper, but I want to build up as much muscle as possible. How much grain should I be feeding her, and what kind?
6 AnswersHorses1 decade agotaking birth control?

(Please just scroll through the album, there's only like 6 photos.)
I own one horse and show another one. The grey is the one who I show. His name is Polar (Pull a Look at shows :) and I show him hunter on the Trillium circuit. The Belgian/TB cross (the big one lol) is the one I own. Her name's Roxy and I show her jumper and dressage (in schooling shows.) She also goes on trail rides.
I was just wondering what you guys think of them both, conformation-wise and just in general...Thanks!
4 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWhat should I do about my horse's bit?
I have an 11 year old Belgian/TB cross and she is very lazy. (I am teaching her to move off of my leg more and such so now she is much better than when I got her, but it's still a work in progress...). I use a very gentle full-cheek french link snaffle on her since she stops and turns very easily with almost no pulling on her mouth.
Lately we have been working on dressage with her and my instructor. She was very good at the beginning of the year but now is refusing to be soft in the mouth as much as she was earlier. My instructor thinks that I should get a stronger bit like a Kimberwick since she isn't responding, but I don't know anything about them and I don't really know if that's a good idea. My instructor also thinks that I should get bigger spurs.
Can someone tell me more about Kimberwicks and what kind of bit I should use?
6 AnswersHorses1 decade agoMy knees have been hurting after running, can someone help?
I run sometimes, not regularly, but I want to do it regularly now in the mornings. The problem is, when I run my knees start to hurt. I don't run for very long (15 minutes max) and I'm not overweight or anything. I've never had anything wrong with my knees, so I don't know what's going on!
They hurt all day afterwards. Should I stop running or is there something that I can do?
1 AnswerInjuries1 decade agoCan someone help me with Windows Movie Maker asap please? ?
HiI had to make a movie for a school project and so I used Windows Movie Maker. When I brought the CD to class none of the video clips showed up (there were just red x's.) I published the CD onto a recordable disk.
My classmates told me to save it as an AVI. How do you do this? I tried to by going File - Save As - and then there were no other options other than Save as Movie Maker Project.
Also, if anyone answers, please don't use confusing terms as I am....shall we say....technologically impaired. ;) I need to do this by Monday, so help quickly please!
1 AnswerSoftware1 decade agoWhat books should I read?
I'm 13 and in grade eight. We have to read a fiction book for our next book report and I want to get a good book. Last month, I read Crime and Punishment (Dostoevsky) and that was about the right reading level. I can handle anything harder, really. So what should I read? (Also, please don't tell me to read Twilight. I've read it and liked it, but its not really the right book for a book report.)
Thanks!
3 AnswersOther - Education1 decade agoMy horse is having trouble jumping higher?
I have a 10 year old Belgian Thoroughbred cross horse (16hh). When i bought her, I was jumping about 2'6'' (I bought her a year ago.) A lot has changed in a year, and we are ready for about 3'6''. I've jumped that high in lessons, ect. When I bought her they told me that she was showing 3'6'' courses and schooling 3'9''. I saw them jump her 3'9'', so I know that she can do it. I have tried to jump her higher lately. She will go up to about 3', but any higher and she refuses. I got her to jump3'6'' once and it didn't seem to put any strain on her.
How can I get her so that she jumps the higher jumps every time? She's not used to jumping that high, but she'll do the 3' no problem. (Our jumps go from 3' to 3'6'' with nothing in between.) Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
8 AnswersHorses1 decade agoWhat kind of tricks can I teach my dog?
I have a 9 year old golden retriever who is really smart and loves to learn tricks. He knows how to do all of the regular stuff like sit, stay, come ect. He also knows how to shake a paw and how to sneeze on command. A few years ago, when i really wanted a horse but didn't have one, I taught him to do all of the stuff I would teach my horse, like jumping courses and walk/trot/cantering. My question is, what else can I teach him, because he loves attention and will do anything for it. Thanks
