  • What PS3 games should I get/ask for for Christmas?

    I typically like games in RPG-type genres (Final Fantasy, Odin Sphere, Star Ocean, Persona, etc) and also games like MGS (which I know I need to get MGS4 :D) and Shadow of the Colossus, God of War...

    I do NOT care for FPS games (Halo, CoD..) or fighting games (cuz I suck at em and am competitive and hate losing~), so refrain for any recommendations of those type of genres.

    Thanks!

  • Why do my USB & plugin devices fry so quickly?

    Ive owned my HP dv9700 now for for almost a year and a half, and in that time frame, I have gone through the following USB devices:

    2 Xbox 360 Wireless Controller + headset for PC

    2 Radioshack PS2 -> USB converters

    4 different headsets

    2 Logitec PS2 controllers

    1 Logitec PS2 Rumble controller

    A little irritating to go through so many devices in such a relatively short amount of time, the most recent headset only lasting 2.5 weeks before it went bad (and I just bought a Bluetooth headset in the meantime to see if I can avoid burning it out). I can tell when the devices start to go bad since, in the case of headsets, the mic becomes inconsistant and choppy as does the audio feedback, and for game controllers, the red power light in the middle of the controller will flicker when the power stops going to it. Once the devices reach this point, they won't work at all anymore on any computer.

    System info if it helps:

    Vista 64-bit SP1

    AMD Turion 64X2

    4GB RAM

    NVIDIA GeForce 7150M/nForce 630M

    Will gladly provide more info if needed -- I just want to figure out if there's a way to stop my laptop from eating more devices in the future -- the USB ports themselves still work without a hitch despite frying numerous devices in the past.
