  • how would a disc reader in an xbox 360 break?

My younger sister was playing my xbox 360 (original white) today and she came upstairs today and told me that in the middle of a COD game, the xbox broke. I know it's the disc reader that is messed up but I don't know what she could have done to break it, and knowing her there is a very high chance she did something like hitting the xbox. When I put a game in the xbox I can hear the disc reader beeping and it won't read the disc.

What could she have done that caused this and is there a chance that this could randomly happen in the middle of a game without any cause?

  • Garage employees using client's car?

Over Thanksgiving, my mother dropped off her Lexus RX 350 for regular maintenance. We tried to pick up the car on sunday but the garage was closed. However, we didn't see the car so we looked for it, it was not inside, in the back, or out front. The next day monday, the car was sitting in a spot in the back that we did check, so it was garunteed not there the day before. My father talked to the manager who denied that anyone drove the car off of the lot and that it had never left the spot it was in. My father was very upset and the garage gave us a discount. After I picked it up with him I was driving home with it and noticed the fuel was extremely low and called my father to tell him I was gonna fill it up, he asked me how many miles were on the odometer and it turns out there are about 175 extra miles on the car than when it was dropped off. Because of is, my mother now wants to get the authorities involved. My question is what, if any, legal implications are there with something like this? What do you think of this? Should we even proceed legally with this garage?

  • Aqueon 15 column deluxe kit?

I have always wanted to try a planted tank and the Aqueon 15 gallon column deluxe kit currently went on sale. Any reviews or opinions on this tank? The main thing I am worried about is lighting and plants that light could support as I am pretty experienced with the fish side of things. I like the look of amazon swords, but are these too big for a tank this size or is the lighting not good enough? Give me some suggestions! Specs on the tank are:

    13.6" x 13.8" x 24.8" (tall)

    Full spectrum T-5 light

QuietFlow Filter built into the tank

Kit doesn't come with a heater, but I have one from a tank I upgraded recently sitting around

Any advise and opinions would be appreciated, Thank you!

  • First time to the West Coast, what to see?

Hi! I'm a senior in high school and live in illinois. My dad and I are planning a trip to California. This will be my first time to the West Coast. We are planning a trip on the Martin Luther King Jr. day weekend. We will be there for 4 days. What are the must sees? We will probably be mainly in the LA area, but that can be changed as well. Let me know what you all recommend!

  • Soccer refereeing on college application?

I referee soccer and was wondering if I should put it in the previous employment portion of my college application or if I should include it somewhere else. I do make money off of it and when I have done resumes for class, the teacher has always told me to include it in previous employment. Soccer refereeing is the closest I have come to being "employed" so should I include in there or just leave it blank and put soccer refereeing in a different location?

  • Over aggressive firemouth problems?

I upgraded to a 75 gallon tank about 2 months ago and am loving it. The only problem is that my 3" firemouth is extremely aggressive and is stressing my angelfish out a lot. My angel is a beautiful platinum and his fins have started to fray from fin nipping and possibly the early stages of fin rot due to stress from the firemouth. The tank is well filtered and kept at 78 degrees. The tank is medium planted as well as I have 2 seperate caves, 2 small pieces of driftwood, and a larger fake driftwood.

    Stock is: 1 3" firemouth

    1 2.5" angelfish

    1 2.5" krib

    5 male guppies

    3 Julii cories

    4 Peppered cories

    1 clown pleco

    1 rubber lip pleco

Any suggestions on how to decrease aggression? I much prefer the angelfish over the firemouth, though would be happy if I could keed both somehow.

  • Specifications of the TI-84/83 vs. TI-89 for High School?

My brother is a freshman in high school and is getting a graphing calculator (buying it a little early) for his upcoming classes next year (Algebra II/Trig, precalc, and calc). I am a Junior and use the 84 and am happy with it, but the store was out so we bought an 89. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me the main differences and restrictions on tests like the ACT. Thanks!

  • Help Identifying Fish diseases?

I have two diseases that I believe to have in my main tank right now. BTW, it's a well cycled tank kept at 78 degrees.

1.) My cory is suffuring from what I can only describe as his face rotting off and I believe I have identified it as columnaris and I know is bacterial, but how contagious is it because I noticed the same thing on a fish stuck in my filter a couple weeks ago but though it was just my firemouth being too aggressive.

2.) This one I have no Idea. My 3 inch Firemouth has red/white tube/sac hanging out of its anus as well as a crooked mouth. I have tried to search the cause to some degree but haven't found what I'm looking for. I would really appreciate it if someone could ID this for me and I'll research the disease after that.

  • Mystery Snail behavior question?

I got 2 mystery snails a couple weeks ago, a larger gold one and a smaller black one. They're pretty active especially the gold one, but I noticed a strange behavior a few mornings ago. When I was brushing my teeth I went to look at my tank and noticed the gold mystery "climbing" on the black mystery's shell. As I watched the gold mystery inserted part of itself into the black mystery's shell. The gold mystery left it there for about 5 minutes, maybe a little less. The black mystery did seam to try to close its shell while this was happening, but never did. Eventually the gold mystery removed itself and went on its way. I'm not worried and haven't seen it happen since, I just thought it was interesting and was wondering if anyone knows exactly what was happening, if it was breeding or fighting or what not. Btw, they're in a cycled, heated, tank with double filtration on it.

  • Aragonite sand in a fish tank?

I feel really dumb for screwing this up, but I let my brother buy aragonite sand for his aquarium. Everything is already in place and we're just waiting for the sand to settle, but we didn't realize that the sand would raise the pH. Any advise on how to try and combat this high pH with some plant, I have Tetra "Correct pH 7.0" if that would work, but I do want to add a plant that would keep the pH lower so we don't have to add a bunch of chemicals to the tank.

37 gallon tank, he wanted to do south american fish which like lower pH, so the lower the pH, the better.

  • Dwarf Cichlid Tank advise?

My Brother is planning on getting a 37 gallon tank (dimensions are 30"x12"x22") and would like it to be a south american dwarf cichlid tank. I would just like to get any recommendations on this. He is dead set on cockatoo dwarf cichlids as well as Agassiz dwarf cichlids (he wants a pair or trio of each).

He also was looking at firemouth cichlids, but I'm fairly certain they wouldn't work, as well as blood red parrot cichlid which I was a little more open to them because they are a little less maneuverable than the firemouths, but give me your feedback. He was looking at German Blue Rams as a possibility as well. (He knows that he wouldn't be able to put every single one of those fish in even if they are all compatible).

He definitely wants some cory catfish though, so if any of the species mentioned aren't compatible with those then mention that, though I know cories get along with almost everything.

As for dither fish, he was looking at maybe some hatchetfish, black neon tetras, red minor tetras, or some other type of tetra. Any suggestions would be helpful.

We haven't bought the tank yet and you don't need to explain any care or setting up tanks or anything like that because I keep a 36 gallon angelfish tank and a couple 10 gallons so I'm pretty good at all that stuff already.

Any advise would be helpful, just don't yell at me for anything, it's just irritating and doesn't help anyone.

  • Top Fin 10 into a Saltwater tank?

I have a Top Fin 10 gallon starter kit that I bought to house my pregnant guppy until I got a bigger tank which I have done. I was interested in trying my luck in a saltwater nano aquarium. I have everything that is needed to keep a freshwater 10 gallon (tank, filter, heater, good thermometer, etc.), but I am wondering what I would need beyond that (please include costs if you can) as well as any tips for a someone new to saltwater tanks like me. I have been keeping freshwater tanks for years and wanted to try something new. Any stocking tips would be great as well. I appreciate any help anyone can give me at all. Thanks!

  • Does my angelfish have fin rot?

I bought an angelfish 3 days ago and put him/her in a cycled, heated, ten gallon tank with just a pregnant female guppy while my 36 gallon finishes cycling. Since then I have noticed that the "strings" (not the actual fins, not sure what their called) have small white tendrils coming off of them and that the ends seam broken. Is it fin rot or is it something else? Any ideas would be helpful.

  • New Angelfish acting strangely?

I just bought 2 new angelfish for my new tank and they are behaving strangely. I have them in a 10 gallon that's been going for about 2 months. The gold one just sits in the corner and doesn't come out. The black one just sits between a net breeder I have in the tank and the side of the tank, the black one was also getting tossed around by the filter pretty badly so I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with him, but the gold one just sits in the corner. The tank has the 2 angelfish, a female guppy, and 6 week old guppy fry (in the net breeder). I just treated the tank with Mardel Maracyn 2. Any ideas?

  • What is wrong with my fish?

I bought an Endler's liverbearer 5 days ago, I woke up this morning and it had white spots on its tail where it used to be just clear. In my tank, there are a lot of small particles EVERYWHERE that I don't remember before, and I'm fairly sure that they aren't normal because I have 2 tanks side by side and the other tank doesn't have them. As of yet, none of my other fish have any spots are are acting normally. The Endler's is swimming around fine and doesn't seem affected at all. It would be great is someone could give some insight into what this is, it would be great.

  • will my guppies keep my endler's livebearer happy?

I have 2 fancy guppies in a 10 gallon tank and just bought 2 cory catfish and 1 endler's livebearer. He is not large so I have no problem buying another or several more, but I was wondering whether or not my guppies will keep him company as they are both so closely related and community fish.
