Hey people. Thanks for dropping by my profile. I find that fact very flattering! I'm a middle-schooler who get's very bored with most imbeciles around me. I know that that sounds stuck up, but believe me when I say they drool on their desks and (very visibly) sleep during classes. I love to read and write, so feel free to email me with Q&A's or ask a question in the B&A abode that you think I may read. I hate trolls with a passion, and my sword is very sharp and pointy, so beware. I'm currently working on three novels: The World of Trees, the Extraordinary Activities of Peony White, and Goddesses of New. Please tell me if the titles are crap, I can take constructive critisism as much as I can dish it. I love reading fanfiction (mostly - and surprisingly- Twilight and Harry Potter). Now before you go all "Ew, she likes the sparkly vamps!" on my @ss, let me tell you that I said FANFICTION, I really despise the story of the books. SHARING IS CARING! Especially wh
True Blood Vamps Question?
I'm writing a crossover for FF.N and I need to know if the Truebies feel a bloodlust similar to that of Twilight vamps or not. I could use any help I could get.
3 AnswersOther - Television1 decade agoWhich Classic should I read first?
I am just starting out with the classics, and I have no idea which to go for first. I don't mind tomes, and I will read any genre. I know I really want to do Verne and the science fiction classics, but I don't think I should start there. if you name a book, please put a little snippit summary for me. Thanks.
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoRead and critique my poem?
Into darkness a woman strays
There, in night, a shadow lays
Light doesn’t dare to wander here
She meanders, cheek glistening tears
Eclipse the moon, so bright
Plunge us, blind us in eternal night
She sobs in anguish
“Night can finally give me my final wish “
Winds howl and moan and cry
Clouds meander through the sky
The woman walks, through an alley still
Shadow creeps, for the kill
Evade dark, she does
But one cannot escape but once
Away she goes, but the night seeks its revenge
Against darkness, no soul can fend
The shadow attacks and, to its surprise
Dawn shines through, letting night have its demise
The woman lies in bed asleep
In her dreams no villains creep
Though she may consider suicide
By nature’s laws, she must abide
So sweetly as she rests,
She forgets her doubts, and fears, and pain
And allows calm wash through her
Tranquil. So like rain.
She smiles in sleep, turns over once more,
But fails to breathe, knocks on Deaths door
Maybe her life
So precious, so fleet
The spirits of evil
Want nothing more than to keep
In black shadow, she takes a last, shallow breath
Walks into the arms
Of her long awaited Death.
And so our story ends right here
I hope of darkness you have no fear.

Tell me what you think of my crappy poem. . .

I'm an author and I want to know for sure before I write about it. Are there lakes or rivers or calm waters in the French Alps?
2 AnswersGeography1 decade agoShould I continue writing this story? Critique, please!?
I wrote this fro a contest, but then the midterm review sheets came in and I started on those, and before I knew it I had missed the deadline. I just want to know if you think that I should continue with this story. I usually don't write in this genre or in this way at all, but I liked how it cam out so far. I need some honest reviewers. Caution: This has graphic violence and language. No trolls please, from one writer to another! Enjoy:
When he slapped me across the face and called me stupid, all I could think of was the love I held for my tormentor. As he rammed me into the wall and wrapped his fingers around my throat, I could only remember his laugh from across a table of roses and champagne. Once I saw the look in his eyes, everything I saw was hatred and not the usual love that resided there. And as the air was blocked from my drying lungs, I furiously grabbed at the hands I used to hold on midnight walks through the park.
I fell to the floor as my captor decided to play with his prisoner for a while longer before he. . .well I didn’t even want to think about what could happen. I clutched my small hands around my own throat, trying to ease the inflamed skin; hacking as life returned to my miniature frame. A sharp kick landed on my stomach, effectively knocking the wind out of me once more; letting the scream I could no longer hold fall ungracefully from my lips.
His voice, I heard, began to whisper near my ear, but it was not his voice, not the voice he used when telling me I looked beautiful. “Are you ever gonna f*cking leave again? Huh? Answer me, b*tch!” Yanking my hair, he beckoned an answer. “No.” I whimpered, broken, bruised.
This is just what I have so far. I want to know if it's anything worth continuing for a short story. I already have a sketchy ending planned (and you probably won't like it), but I want to know if I should even spend time on it. Tell me what you think!
9 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoMy nook has been frozen for 2 hours. HELP!?
I recently bought the Barnes & Noble Nook and I haven't really used it for the past month. It's been powered on, and it's been on and off of the charger. I went to use it today and it said it had low battery, so I turned it fully off. After doing so, I put it on the charger and then turned it back on. Midway through turning itself on, the device froze. It's been frozen for the past 2 hours. I just tried taking out the battery and putting it back in, but it didn't do anything. Please help me!
2 AnswersOther - Electronics1 decade agoB&A: In your opinion, what characters are NOT Mary Sue's and Gary Lou's?
Which characters are not Mary's and Gary's? Do you know any characters that are complex and flawed? If so, who? I don't want my characters to be considered Marys or Garys, and I'm pretty sure neither do any other authors anywhere else on the planet.
BQ1: If you died tomorrow, what would be your biggest regret?
Mine would be not finishing any of the novels I started writing in the past three years.
BQ2: Are there any lyrics that speak to you in any song you know?
Yes. "No, don't leave me to die here/Help me survive here alone/don't surrender, surrender." from Breaking Banjamin's 'Evil Angel'.
4 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHelp? I need some book critics over here! BQ+?
I'm reading the True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle with my class and I wanted a few honest opinions on the book. I typically read things like Mortal Instruments, Blue Bloods, the Hunger Games, etc. and i wanted to see if anyone who read those types of things had read this book and has an opinion of it. So far, I feel like strangling my teacher and burning the book. It's the most boring thing ever. And, I have to listen to kids read who read slower than a snail . . . .and then can't pronounce the words.
BQ #1: What't the worst book you've ever read for school?
The worst I've read has to be A Jar of Dream by . . . well, I can't remember. It's a good book, but the teacher stopped every five minutes to ask us some trivia about the past sentence and then she would pick the kids whou couldn't read to read the book and not let us read ahead and . . . . torture.
BQ #2: Do you obsessively ship any couples from TV, movies, or books?
I ship . . .ZUTARA!! I know, I'm so original! *sarcasm* Oh, and Tophanng! They're so cute together.
Thanks!
3 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoAnyone know any books like Goddess of Spring?
I just read Goddess of Spring by P.C. Cast and I completely loved it. For those of you who haven't read it, it's about a woman who changes places with the Greek Goddess Persephone and falls in love with Hades. I know it's part of a series, but my public library only has this one, Warrior Rising, and Goddess of the Seas (And I think Poseidon is an old dude so no way) xP. If you have any suggestions, please, I could use some material here.
2 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoB&A: How do you plan out your characters before you write a novel?
Okay, so practically, how do you write a short bio of your characters before writing your novel? I'm just curious to see how other people do it because I need ideas on how to change my system. I used to write out appearance, history, personality, yada, yada in paragraphs, but I want to see if there's a better way.
BQ: What is your novel about (short summary)?
My answer: Best friends who are taken from their world into a magical world just beneath the Earth's crust to save it from impending doom.
BQ #2: If you could change places with any book/TV show character, who would it be?
My answer: Katara from Avatar: The Last Airbender. ZUTARA all the way!
11 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoHelp me name my character?
Okay, so I'm writing a novel and I need a name for the love interest of one of my characters.
Her name is Lara Sorondo (Latin last name) and she is a half vampire and she has hair so black it looks purple and eyes that are the color of liquid silver. She's also about 5'4", 15 turning 16 yrs old, and really pale.
The guy she falls for is a werewolf with coffee colored hair and green/hazel eyes and he's 5'8", 16 yrs old, with lightly tanned skin.
Nothing too common, but nothing too extremely WTF, okay? I only need a first name, but a last name too is fine. Thanks!
5 AnswersBooks & Authors1 decade agoDoes this biography sound good?
The crowd was going wild. Max Lehman just scored the final points of the game, securing his team the win. “I’m funny, I’m smart, and I love playing sports.” That’s Max summed up in one sentence. Of course, there are so many more things about him that you could know. Let me tell you a bit more. . .
Eleven years ago, in Hollywood, FL, Max Andrew Lehman was born. The eldest of two brothers, Max has moved twice in his life. First from his birthplace to be closer to his family in Aventura and then from Aventura to Pinecrest, FL to be nearer to his school. Max always strives to do his best in school, because he wants to go to a good college and succeed in doing what he wants to do in life. Even though he doesn't particularly like to wake up early in the morning. When it comes to reading, Max only enjoys books he considers spectacular, he’s the type of person to read for the sake of reading, not to enjoy. One of his favorite book series is Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which is what he considers a great book. Speaking of favorites. . .
“I put my hands up in the air sometimes, saying eh-oh, gotta let go!” blasts from the radio in Max’s car. The lyrics from ‘Dynamite’ by Taio Cruz are those that he chooses to describe himself with. Max also likes the classic rock band, the Beatles. Max thinks they’re “awesome” because they have gone through a long journey and have composed so many classic rock hits, such as his personal favorite, “Yellow Submarine”.
Max loves to play football, as it is his favorite sport. His team, The Pretty Boys, practices at the Field of Dreams in Palmetto Bay Park every Tuesday from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm and Friday from 5:30 pm to 7 pm. He plays football with his friends because he loves it and thinks it’s fun. Max just recently received his team jersey.
If Max were granted three wishes, I know what he would wish for. First off, he would wish for the power to fly, because he hates to walk around with heavy things (like his backpack). Second, he would wish for straight “A’s” for the rest of his life, because he wants to accomplish all of his goals (like going to a good college). And finally, he would wish to be a hall of fame football star. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see Max play the Super Bowl someday!
