  • Endometrial ablation or laparoscopic hysterectomy?

I was recently diagnosed with endometrial hyperplasia (thickened endometrium) and they also found a fibroid the size of a small plum.

Symptoms include irregular periods, heavy periods with clots, major cramping, intimacy is somewhat painful & even when I'm not on my period my uterus feels uncomfortable/crampy.

With my medical history, the doctor is recommending either endometrial ablation (heat method) or haparoscopic hysterectomy (Da Vinci method). I'm doing research on both options & want to get more information before making a decision.

I'm married with four (soon to be five as a 20 y.o. is coming to live with us for a while)) older kids ranging in age from 11 to 20. I'm a stay at home mom but am involved in a job hunt to get back into the medical field (left it to be with my kids) part time. I haven't had any interviews or nibbles on my resume yet - but haven't put a lot of effort into it until this is resolved & I'm recovered.

For those of you who have either been there done that or in the medical profession - what advice, insight, information, etc. can you give me? In your response, please let me know if you're a BTDT or if a medical professional, what type you are...

    Thanks in advance.

  • Paint sat too long - how do I fix it?

Long story but I was painting trim (semi-gloss) and our foster daughter's aunt called & held me on the phone for way too long. The paint thickened up a bit (it didn't look or feel that thick at the moment). I foolishly put it back in the nearly full gallon of paint. Now every time I take any from that gallon to do anymore trim work, it's thick and more difficult to work with.

How can I thin it out? It's latex paint, if that helps any. Also if you can tell me why you know...and if you've personally tried this with success.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Possible relocation to Fort Wayne -- seeking advice?

I was wondering if anyone out there could tell me whether Fort Wayne would be a good fit for us. We're looking into relocating to several different places. One is where we used to live (Pacific NW) & the other two we've never lived near them.

We're a very conservative family with four kids (two biological & two adopted), we also do foster care and are very active in our church. The kids are all school age (Senior, Freshman, 7th grade & 3rd grade). The younger two/adopted are Latin American.

    so...

    * are the schools there good?

    * are there vibrant, alive churches doing hands-on ministry?

    * is there ethnic diversity or is there a lot of racism?

    * what areas might we want to look at in terms of housing (safe, affordable, at least somewhat diverse school district)

    * do you have any other advice or input for us?
