  • What Top 10 life skills should every adult have (or at least try to gain)?

As a parent of 3 beautiful children, I want to make sure that I at least try to teach them everything they need to know to become independent, self-reliant, confident, happy adults. I have my own ideas regarding some of the essential life skills (e.g. washing dishes, cooking, literacy and numeracy, the ability to drive, how to respect other people, how to budget their money, etc, etc), but I'd really like to hear other people's suggestions.

** Please limit your list to 10 life skills only - otherwise, we'll run out of webspace! :)

Note: For those parents who have children (young or old) with physical, intellectual or other disabilities, I'd also be really interested to hear your Top 10 list.

  • How often and how much do I feed my siamese fighting / betta fish??

The staff at the pet store told me "once a day" at a "maximum 3 pellets" (of betta food), but then various sites on the internet vary between 2-3x per day, while others say keep feeding it up to 3 minutes worth of food. I don't want to overfeed / kill my fish, but I don't want to underfeed it either. Any expert advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!!

  • I haven't heard from him in over a year but...?

I still can't get him out of my head, and I'd really like to know why!

I dated this very handsome, very nice guy for about 6 months back in 2006, but the relationship didn't end well (I had jealousy / insecurity issues at the time, so I can admit it was probably mostly my fault). However, he got a job in another country and he emailed me before he left to tell me of his 2yr contract and that he'd like it if we stayed friends. I responded that I'd be happy to stay friends, but then I haven't heard from him since - except for a group email which I just ignored.

Now, his 2 year contract is due to end in Oct and I don't know for sure whether he'll come back but I can't stop thinking about him. And truthfully, I fantasize that he'll return home, call me and tell me how much he loves and missed me!! Pitiful, I know...

Should I email him? Should I assume he's now married / taken and that I should just move on now? What should I do?? Your help/advice would be greatly appreciated! Mel
