In movies and videos, we often see a sniper accompanied by an assitant looking through a (monocular?). What exactly does the helper do? How does he help the sniper aim, because "too low, too high", can't the sniper see that for himself? And how do they know what the other is aiming at? Seems like they only talk about location they hit or if they shot the target but never "where are you aiming now". How are they better together? Why's the assistant so important?

I do not own a gun. Im simply interested in them, so one day, I ordered some rounds from AmmunitionToGo.com. After I ordered it, I was doing some research and they say 308 Win is not, although similar to 7.62x51mm NATO. However, when I opened the box of ammunition, I noticed that one row says "308" one row says "7.62x51". If they really are different, why would they sell it in the same box? Isn't it the exact same cartridge in different names?

I have read in other people's yahoo answers that if you just use a clip and hold a bullet and burn it, it may explode instead Of being fired. (However, in the movie RED, the dude threw some bullets on a pan and ran away and the bullets fired).

I wonder, instead of directly heating the round, what if you get its proper barrel and insert the round in there. Then use a device (imagin a plastic bottle cap with a nail through the middle. Then imagin it is metal and fits around the back of the barrel). Then if you punch the back of the "cap", and the nail stabs the bullet, would it fire correctly?

I was told that a used flute, if kept in good condition, would sound better than a brand new instrument, until after the player uses the new instrument for some time, then they will sound similar, however, why is that? What caused this? Is it because that the blow hole has been shaped by the wind to the "right" shape? Or is it because the pads have been used for awhile? What exactly caused this difference in sounding?

Also, I just want to kind of get a grasp of how I'm doing. I have played the instrument now for 2 and a half years. Took 8 hours of private lesson in total. (I'm best at my school). Can reach from the lowest note of my instrument (C) and up to the 4th D (and can't get beyond). How am I doing "range-wise"? And what should I do, like what kind of training, to reach the rest of that highest octave?

I am a flutist and wants to just look for step up instruments. I already own a Yamaha 321, but wants to get a even ligher level flute. I hope to find sites and models that are both good and cheap. Here are my preferences:

Required Features:

-Yamaha Brand

-Must have Solid Silver or Sterling Silver Headjoint.

-Must be a flute with a B footjoint.

-Must have offset G key.

-First hand, new.

-Must have adjustment screws.

-The embrochur hole is the oval/rounded rectangular shape, not circle.

Optional Features:

-Open hole.

-Gold Plated parts (I would love to have this, but I won't die without it.)

-Solid Silver/Sterling Silver Body and Footjoint. (I would really want this and will really need it. I only put this item in the Optional section because usually this makes the instrument extremely expensive.)

This is basically what I would want in a step up instrument. Please help me find the right model and the place that offers it for the lowest possible price. And I want it to be new because second hand's quality can be good and can be bad, no one knows.

The price range I am looking for is probably below $1,000 USD. If it costs more (because of silver body and foot joints), just find the lowest price possible. Thanks a lot for helping me decide on a instrument model & site.

I had been wondering about how Pi goes on and on, and then I thought, how do you find Pi?! This is a easy question because since C=Pi r, it is not complicated at all to realize that C divided by D (or 2 r) equals Pi! Now, once again, how is Pi an irrational number? Why can't it be expressed in a fraction? Before you think any further, remember that C/D = Pi. So unless your measurement to C or D is also irrational, there is no way that Pi could be irrational because for example: (I am using random numbers, so don't mind me) if C is 10.9999999 and D is 4.8877636887, then Pi is 10.9999999/4.8877636887. Where did the irrational come from then? Why can't Pi be a fraction unrounded? Just how exactly did Scientists and Mathematitions made Pi irrational?

I am a flute/violin player. I heard the song "Time to say Goodbye" and I liked it a lot. I want to play it but I am too lazy to write it down. Is there a place that I can go to to find the sheet music? I don't need the full score (but it'd be nice to have one), all I need is the main melody for the WHOLE (or most) of the song. I play the flute (the ones that are made out of metal and goes horizontally), and I want to make a very good fingering chart. Can you guys help me gather some links (that lead me directly to the information) that have like a lot of alternate fingerings and stuff? I'm aiming to get as many fingerings (that are good) for each note. Also, I'd apreciate it if there are discriptions for the different fingerings (for example, XXX/XX is slightly flat,) but i don't HAVE to have it. I am trying to solve this math problem that I thought up myself. Its like, I wonder how much would cost a company to make a flute (only material cost), so I found the volume of the instrument and the density of gold, but when I search up gold prices, it says "Gold: $1341/oz", but how do I know if that is the WEIGHT or MASS? because I only need the mass... (A flute's volume is 46.27 cm^3 by the way, some info just for you to have fun with, won't help solve MY question though)

I am a iPod touch 2nd and 4th Generation owner (I upgraded recently). I was trying to press the buttons on the left side of facebook's "Full site" but when I press it, it doesn't load a all. The blue bars beside the button i pressed moves, but thats all, it doesn't load! And also, when I had my 2nd gen, sometimes when the side buttons do work, it will take me to the touch site instead of the button i pressed! (For example if I clicked "Applications", it would load and take me to facebook's touch site "Home" instead.) I don't like the touch site, is there a way to "turn it off" or avoid the iPod from going there automatically? Also, what is wrong with the side buttons, why doesn't it work?! Thanks for answering.

P.S. Also, the 4th Generation's internet suppose to be faster, why does it get stuck sometimes quite often? Like the address/loading progress bar shows up, but then gets stuck for ever..)

I have just recently upgraded from a 2nd gen to a 4th generation so I am not familiar with it. Can the ipod touch 4th generation multitask? (it is better than 3rd gen for sure). I was wondering if girls act differently during their cycles, like are they easier to get mad during times their period? Like, I checked and made sure that I AM signed in, I checked that it is the right question, the question hadn't expired yet, and so on, but I couldn't choose the best answer (for my question)! The Muslim Church that was going to be built near ground zero has been on the news recently, and it seems that there are lots of arguement going on.

I personally don't understand why the church can't be built. It after all isn't built ON the site. I've seen articles that says that "Muslims are terrors who bombed the Twins Tower", but I don't think this is the correct thing to say. My dad had taught me long time ago statemsnts for example: "If the sky rains, the ground would be wet, but if the ground, then it maybe didn't rain because maybe someone just spilled water there", etc. So if we get back to the Muslims and the terrorist, this applies also, because Yes, the terrorists are Muslim, BUT Muslims aren't terrorists, you guys understand what I am saying?

Also, I don't see why so many Americans are against other people's religion, I mean, the U. S. Constitution grants People the freedom of religion, so why are they argueing over a problem of religion? I mean, if you really want to do that, at least go cancel that amendment in the constitution first before you do that.

And lastly, I realized that Americans really like burning stuff, don't you think? First people in Arizona burned Mexican flags and stomped on them, and now they are talking about burning Muslim "bibles". It feels like they don't respect other nations at all... And what good would doing these burning do? None, and it could possibly cause bad concequinces! I don't know what other people think, but the way I think about it is this: "Okay, you are going to buy Muslim bibles (I'm not sure what they are really called since I'm not Muslim) and burn them. This would get Muslims very mad, and guess what? Maybe they didn't want to bomb America, but because of what they are doing to their bibles, that changed their mind. Maybe non-terrorists become real terrorists JUST because of American's disrespect for them."

What do you think? I want to hear people's opinions on this. Are there people out there like me, who think many Americans are think only they are right and strongly against other beliefs? Do you think it is right to be so anti-Islamic?
