I am currently employed but looking for a job. Was applying online and got a call for a phone interview after two days I was extended the offer for the position which I accepted and filled out the required paper work and consent for the background check. I also gave a notice to my current employer that I will be leaving within two weeks

Now the employer which extended me the offer says that they ran the background check on me and every thing is clear but they are waiting on the background check from the country I came in from when I know that there is no such system there that you can run a background check on some one until and unless s/he has a million dollar reward on them and I definitely do not have any bad history on my background which was the only reason the US authorities let me into USA. I have been put on hold and am told to wait.

I have been here in the USA for 2 years now and was definitely checked by the US authorities before I was granted entry into the US. My status here is resident alien which means I will be lucky enough to vote by the year 2012

Although I do not plan on the hassle of all that but just for my info can this be a case of discrimination on the basis of national origin since I was offered the position which I accepted and am not being hired because of this reason

Here is the comparison which I did on the website of Best Buy one says a speed of 10/100 Mbps the other is 150 Mbps. If one would have been 100 Mbps and the other 150 it would have made sense to me. Please help which one to buy

Which one is better Tax or Forensic?

Which one will be harder or take more time to complete?

Which one is more rewarding and enjoy more job security and demand?

I get financial aid and I also have a program at work from which I can get reimbursed for my tuition expenses. My financial aid is enough to cover my education expenses but planning ahead is it OK if I take the tuition reimbursement from my employer too and save it for my University because I know they are expensive.

What would be the tax situation for this would I have to show this in my tax return if yes what would I show this as income?

I have T Mobile I am happy with their service and do not want to switch but I do want the Iphone available only from AT&T can I like sign a 2 year contract at AT&T and get the Iphone and within one month cancel the contract and keep the Iphone get it unlocked and use it on T Mobile ? would this be wise ? any one any better ideas to get the Iphone

My age is 22 and its been almost 18 months since I moved to US I started working in June of 2009 and I filed my 2009 Tax return with an income of only $12,000 I want to apply for a Chase Freedom Credit Card but I am not sure if my credit would be sufficient I dont want to apply and than get rejected to further ruin my credit if I have any. I dont want a credit card because I want to pay for things on Credit but I want a credit card because if you pay that on time it helps you build your credit and help is appreciated

My age is 23 and I am a student of Accounting as my major and HVAC (Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning) as my minor in which you learn how to fix Air Conditioners and Air Conditioners I know it does not makes sense because Accounting and HVAC does not has any combination but my thought behind doing HVAC was NO.1 - It can not be outsourced and it is necessary no matter how the economy is doing NO.2 - It would require less capital if I want to start my own HVAC Business and it is less likely to make a loss in this business thats what my understanding is.

Recently I got a chance to see the average pay for both Accountants and HVAC Technician which came up as close to $15 to $27 for Accountants and $15 to $25 for HVAC.

Now I am confused which one to give more priority and what to do Accounting or HVAC ?

I have just started with my first ever job in the United States the pay I was told I would receive is $ 9.50 per hour which would be directly deposited into my bank account. My bank account reflects a direct deposit of $126.87 for my first two days of work which were 15 Hours should not it be 15 x 9.50 = $142.50 any idea what this deduction of almost 11% is for ?

I am searching for job these days for which I have to upload my resume on the internet which includes my complete details including address and contact numbers

I have received two checks for $1500 and $1600 through UPS for some one I dont know and havent even talked to them through email or phone and these checks have no instructions enclosed what to do are only checks from a PO Box number and bearing senders phone number that is invalid

Should this be of any concern to me like for my tax or a possible fraud attempt even though I am not getting those checks deposited in my bank account
