Happily Married! Live on the Space Coast of Florida. Proud to be the Mommy of three. Two AMAZING girls, one is 13years old and the other just turned 2 years old, my last child is my son and he is 5 months!! I work full time outside the home, I do some attachment parenting because I think that they are only little for so long and since I work so much they need me. I come acrossed sometimes as harsh, but I'm really not. I live on a farm! Hah hah hah. SO I am not stuck up by any means!

  • Can I un-do the attachment parenting for my sanity??!!!?

My son just turned two. I did a lot of attachment parenting. Now I'm at my wits end. He doesn't sleep thru the night. He won't sleep in his bed. They only way to get him to fall asleep is if he is laying on my chest. I then put him on the couch or in his bed....within a couple hours he wakes and is screaming bloody murder until I lay with him until he's back asleep.

:( I honestly can not do the cry it out. Any other suggestions/?

He also stays up until 11pm before he finally crashes. Then he's back up throughout the night:.....then up by 7. *yawn*

Please tell me Im not alone. Literally he will only sleep for about 3 hours at a time. I cant do CIO, and its not like hes in a crib so I cant ignore him, he wakes up screaming bloody murder, then comes to my room, I can either take him back to his bed and lay down with him or put him in our bed in which he goes right back to sleep. I really just wnt him to SLEEP in his room without waking up every 3 hours.....advice???

  • 12 Month old now walking. Bowlegged?

My son is now walking. Alot. But everyone (mainly MIL) keeps saying he needs to go to the doctor because he is "bowlegged". My other two daughters if I remember correctly walked like that too when they started out with their new walking skills? He doesnt walk like one foot in front of the other he is literally toddling, so wouldnt that be the reason he appears to be bowlegged....it is actually cute because he is a chunky thing, he looks like a mini sumo wrestler walking!

    Any other mommas seen this?

  • Seriously I can't be the only one....?

My sister has been staying with me for a while which is driving me crazy (she has 3 kids and I have 3 kids) anyway, I co-sleep with my 2 year old, my 11 month old is in a crib in my room, I use a sling still for both the 2 year old and the 11 month old depending on who needs to be closer, I havent done all their shots for any of the 3 (The pediatrician and I decided which ones were important)....

This drives her crazy which drives me crazy.

Do you cosleep? Shots? When did you stop cosleeping? Slings?

  • Been in a funk lately? Is it just me?

So I have been in a strange mood lately. I should say moods.

Anyone else doing the same? Any suggestions as to how I can just not care about everything all at once? I feel so hateful and grumpy lately that it doesnt matter what the kids and hubby are doing I just dont care. My mind is running in circles. Anyway, just wondering if I am alone in this? Wondering how you other working moms/dads or stay at home moms and dads handle it all....

  • Formula Question....What is the difference?

I have been exclusively breastfeeding for 9 month, but recently started to supplement with Similac Sensitive (it is ready to feed bottles). He may get one bottle a day or every other day depending on my BM supply. (I work 50hrs a week and can not always keep up with pumping schedule). Anyway, so the ready to feed bottles are pricey so I wanted to try the powdered, but Austin will not drink it. What is the difference? the RTF bottles seem thicker, so could that be it. Anyone else have this issue with their babies having a preference with formula??

    Thanks!

  • And yet another spanking!!!?

So I know that this is a hot topic but I am going to ask anyway because my husband and I after all these long years still disagree (raised differently I guess).

I see spanking as retarded and that it teaches my children to hit when someone doesn't do what they want them to do, or if she is having a temper tantrum.....

My husband thinks that it teaches respect. I think that to earn respect you must give it and spanking to me doesn't seem respectful.

I do not judge those who do spank, it just doesn't work for me and my family. My husband doesn't spank the kids because of how I feel about it, but when they get in trouble he always throws in the if they were to get spanked they wouldn't do whatever it is.

Do you spank and if so why? I mean did you try other discipline before?

  • Think it would kill him if........?

I took the boob away from him occassionally and gave him a formula bottle? This would give me a chance to pump and store a little bit more. I literally am pumping for the next day. (and I must say it is getting old fast.

Will he sleep better if I gave him a formula bottle before bed? He is almost 9 months old.

  • 8 month old trying my nerves!!!?

So my son is almost 9 months old and thinks he can walk!! He is making me a nervous wreck!!! He literally will not sit down, he is pulling himself up on everything, walking along the couch etc......

Problem is...he has no real balance so he is falling like crazy. You would think he would know that oh yeah if I do this Im gonna fall.

Tried the walker, he screams like crazy until you take him out, and once again boom he falls. He does fine if he is holding onto something but now he wants to let go.

Both of my daughters were kinda late on walking so this is way new to me. I seriously thought I had a couple more months but no0o0o0.....Any suggestions besides bubble wrapping him?

  • So0o Part 2 from earlier question. How do I keep my mouth shut?

I called to check on the kids (big mistake) and he bit my head off because I slipped and made the comment must be nice to sleep all day.(because my cousin took the kids) he then said its because he doesn't feel good. UGH! So of course I wanted to explode but then he turned it around and I am the bad guy and I want too much from him. and that I am crazy. Hell maybe I am.

  • I hate to pump. Despise actually. Want to throw it. LOL?

I seriously hate pumping. It seems to waste time when I am already swamped at work. I really want to wean my son simply because I hate pumping that much. I have been pumping for 9 lo0o0ong months now and I am simply over it. I do however love breastfeeding. I love our time together since I am at work all day.......So to make it a question and not just a rant about blowing up my breastpump........Did you pump too? Can I just not pump at work and BF at night? How bad will my supply diminish? Okay Im done!

  • What formula if any did you choose and why?

I am about to start weaning my son (he is 9 1/2 months)....my question is this....What formula did you switch your infant to and if I wait until he is 10 1/2 months do you think we could slowly start milk?

  • 8 month is very sick.....vomit question.?

My 8 month old is sick. We went back to the dr this afternoon and they put him on a nebulizer, and started him on augmentin antibiotic. He seemed to be sleeping finally then all of the sudden started throwing up in his sleep. I am wondering if it could be from the new antibiotic? He has never had them before?!

  • I am done breastfeeding I think...So weening is......?

So I am thinking I am over BF'ing. We made it 8 months and I am proud of us. Since we were not going to BF at all I am proud.

Anyway, so how do I start the weening process? I work full time so I pump at work 3 times a day and he already is used to a bottle as thats how he gets his milk while I am at work.....So how do we do this and any advice to make the transition easier?

I said I was only going to for 6-8 weeks, but we are going on 8 months.

How long did you make it? I'm not sure how much longer we will go. He is biting!

  • Successful Bf'ing for 6months...but now teething.....HELP!?

Well thanks to all of ya'lls support and guidance my son and are almost at the 6 month mark (exclusively) breastfeeding. But n0o0o0ow he is teething and OMG he is biting me so0o0o hard I literally feel sick sometimes. HELP with that would be great. Another question is he seems to be growling and more squirmy when he is nursing and has started waking up several times overnight to nurse...?? Is this because of the teething, or a growth spurt or is my supply not enough to keep him full anymore??!!! I do work full time, but pump at work and then on lunch I drive to nurse him so his daytime schedule really hasn't changed.......Okay that's all the questions I have at the moment and thanks!

  • Crib bumper question for my 5 1/2 month old?

My 5 1/2 month old has now begun to roll and squirm around in his crib. You know the drill, lay him to sleep one way then by the time he wakes to nurse he is completely another way. We never put the bumper pads on the crib because I was not comfortable with it. But now he is getting his arm or sometimes his little legs through the crib rails and wakes up screaming. Do you use a bumper on your babies crib. This is my 3rd child but my girls always co-slept so they never really had a crib whereas my son sleeps better in his crib, but I don't want him to keep "hurting" himself.

    Thanks!

  • Breastfeeding, solids, poop, etc Questions! Again`?

Thanks to all of you great moms and grandmas! My son and I are still going strong breastfeeding, and it was thanks to you guys since I had no desire to BF until day 3 in the middle of the night and had no clue as to what to do. Who would have thought that YA would teach me! Anyway enough of that, we are now at 5 1/2 months and he getting some rice cereal during the day while I am at work, and I have noticed his pooping schedule is almost gone. He hasnt pooped in a little over a week. Can he have some juice to get him to go or should I wait a little bit longer as he really doesnt seem to mind? He doesnt seem to be in any pain, normal gas etc...LOL.... so0o0o how often should he be pooping? He is breastfed on demand ( I pump while I'm at work) and has cereal mixed with breastmilk 2 times a day.

    Thanks in advanced!
