  • Chem help?

I need some help with chemistry. I have a test tomorrow and there's one problem on the review that absolutely has me stumped:

The "alum" used in cooking is potassium aluminum sulfate ___hydrate, KAl(SO4)*xH2O. Assume you heat a 4.74 g sample of the hydrate compound and that it loses 2.16 g of water. What is the correct formula for "alum?"

  • Chemistry help?

I have a chemistry test tomorrow and there's some things I can't figure out.

    Here's a problem:

How many moles of carbon dioxide are produced when 2.5 moles of oxygen react with propane.

I'm not asking for an answer, I just need to know how to solve this.

  • Girlfriend hanging out with another guy?

Okay, so I've been dating this for a month and everything is great. But the other day I figured out that she and this other guy had a fling while we weren't officially in a relationship yet. She cut ties with him when we went into a relationship. This week he came back and tried to guilt trip her into breaking up with me and dating him. She didn't thankfully, but now she's spent three days this week with him. She has bite marks on her legs from him and they wrestled yesterday. I feel like I'm losing her. I want to trust her. I really do. But she's really worrying me. What should I do?

  • Help! Girlfriend likes another guy!?

Okay, so me and this girl have been dating for a month, and everything has been going PERFECT. I have no clue what happened. This past weekend, we were supposed to go on a date and she just blew me off. The next day she called me saying that we need a break to gather her thoughts, and that she has feelings for another guy. This is killing me. Guys and girls, I need both your perspectives. What should I do? (Btw I'm a high school student, so is she)

  • What should I do about this date?

Okay, so there's this girl who wants to hang with me tonight. She want me to plan what we'll do. Preferably at her house. What should I do?

  • Should I make a move?

Okay, so there's this girl I really like. She's so sweet and funny and pretty. Absolutely stunning personality. I've had a crush on her for while now. I'm a junior and she's a freshman. I'm sorry if that's weird. We went out several times and she always seemed to like me. She even accepted when I asked her to Homecoming a while back. I finally admitted my feelings for her, and after a week of keeping me waiting and saying "I need to think about it." she said she didn't feel the same. I was completely baffled by this because I thought she really liked me too. She seems to really like one of my good friends, and it really hurts to see her stare at him and laugh at everything he says and follow him around to talk to him. I think that may be the reason she told me she didn't like me. I think she likes me, but just likes my friend more. But I dunno. It's hard to tell with girls, especially her. Anyways, she asked me to Sadie (for people who don't know, it's a girls-ask-guys dance), and of course I said yes. All my friends think I should make a move at the dance, but I'm not so sure that's a good idea. I mean she already told me she didn't feel the same. Even though it seems otherwise. I don't want to ruin our friendship but I also don't want to miss a chance I might have to be with her. I just don't know what to do. Even if I were to make a move, what should I do? Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Where to begin with speaking Japanese?

Lately, I've badly wanted to learn Japanese. You will probably find my reason stupid, but nonetheless, I'm serious about learning it. Well, you see, I'm really into anime (and manga) but I'm so tired of waiting a year after an anime comes out to watch crappy English voice-overs (dubs) and poorly translated subtitles. I just want to be able to understand the Japanese so I won't need to wait forever, and so I can watch an anime right when it comes out in Japan. I'm not looking to completely master it, but I want to be able to comprehend enough to understand Japanese anime. How long do you think that will take if I stay dedicated? Also, where do I start? What should I learn first? What are some good ways I can learn? I'm pretty broke, so I really can't afford to purchase anything. Also, if you're gonna make a big deal about me not wanting to fully master it to the equivalent of the highest English levels, don't bother answering.
