  • Should I take my bf to my senior prom even though my friends are against it?

My bf and I have been dating for a little over a month now and we're doing really great and strong. I am a senior in high school and my boyfriend is 19. I want to take him as a date to my prom and he said he would really like to go with me. My family (especially my sister since she didn't have a date and kind of regrets it to this day) says I should take him as my date. However my 2 best friends (who I would go to prom with) are against the idea. One of my best friends knows my boyfriend since he is a family friend (she actually introduced us). Plus they even made a rule saying "No boyfriends" but I didn't agree with it. Every time I mentioned that i want to take him, they say "It will cause drama" or "Sorry, we made the rule". Also, both of my friends know a lot of people going to prom so what if they go and hang out with others and leave me alone. Prom is in May and tickets go on sale in mid-April so i still have time to decide. I really want to take him and I think we would have a great time. I just don't want this to break up my friends and I. But I really want to take him and he is really excited. What do you think I should do?

  • He stood me up last night. What do I do?

So I've been going out with my bf for the last few days. My family really likes him and I really like him too. Last night my family was having a party for a friend and I invited him to come. He said he would be there but he never did. He never called nor texted me saying he wouldn't show up. I even texted him twice asking where he was at (no reply) and called him but he didn't answer. So my bf stood me up last night, and now I'm so upset and mad at him. I don't want to break it off with him but i feel he needs to explain himself. Do i contact him first or do I let him contact me first? Nobody has never stood me up before. If it helps, I'm 17 and he's 18. Thank you.

He also knew the location and the time of the party.

  • NROTC question (Please answer if you're familiar with NROTC)?

I'm interested in becoming a Navy Nurse, so I've been looking into the NROTC scholarship. I just received my SAT scores, and they are below the requirements. So now I am lost on what to do.

    1. If I retake the SATs in October, will there be enough time to apply after I receive my scores?

    2. If I don't get the scores up to the requirements, would it be better to go to Community College and then transfer to a 4 year and try for the scholarship (2 year option then)? Or join the College Program if I'm admitted into a college with NROTC?

    3. If I am admitted into a college with no NROTC program, is there a different type of program the Navy offers for Nurses?

The colleges I'm interested in are San Diego State, University of Arizona, and Grand Canyon University (which doesn't have the NROTC program, but has a great nursing program). If it helps, I am an average student with a 3.3 GPA, will be a Senior in High School, and I volunteer at my local hospital and have over 150 hours (I'm still continuing). Thank you for the help! I really appreciate it.

  • Is the show 'Bridezillas' rubbing off on more brides?

I love watching Bridezillas. It's good for entertainment value, but I can't help but wonder if people in the wedding industry has noticed that more and more of their clients are coming in with a mindset of "MY way or the highway."

So, if anyone out there works in the industry, have you noticed more and more brides coming off as classless, stubborn, jerks now that the show is becomming more and more popular? As if because that behavior is expected in order to get what they want. I'd like to hear your opinions.

  • Have you ever camped at the Stagecoach Festival in California?

If so, I was wondering how strict they are with their rules. My main concern is the rule that's stated on the website that says no alcohol can be brought, but it can be purchased there. I'm wondering how strictly enforced that rule is. Thanks in advance and maybe I'll see you there!

  • How do I cool my jets?

I've been best friends with my boyfriend for about 2 years and we've been dating for about a year and a half. So after 3 and a half odd years of being together, I know we are meant to be.

We're having a great time, and I really want to get engaged, and start planning our life together. We're both 23 and wrapping up college so I'm not saying that I want a short engagement and to get married next week. I know we need to get jobs and get out on our own more before we can commit to marriage.

It's hard to explain, but I'm going nuts on the inside because I want to marry him so badly. I basically just need some advice to chill out and relax. I know it's all going to happen in time, but I want it now! I don't want to wait, but I know I have to and I just was wondering if anyone had any tips for helping me be more patient without blowing up.

    Thanks so much!

  • Is it ok to not have a father daughter dance at my wedding?

I'm not terribly close with my dad and I was just wondering if it's acceptable to not even have a dance with him at all at my wedding. My parents are married, it's just that he's very harsh and cold to me. He's made it quite clear that he loves my younger sister more. Can I have a dance with my mom instead? I'm not even engaged quite yet, but I was just wondering what your opinions are. Thanks for your input!!

  • Are acoustic guitars the same size?

I want to buy my boyfriend a case for his acoustic guitar and I'm not sure what brand it is. Does brand matter? Can I just buy a case made for an acoustic and that'll be the right size? Thanks in advance!!

  • What would you legalize?

What would you make legal that is illegal right now? In return for getting something legalized, you have to now make something that is legal illegal.

For example you could say, "I would legalize all drugs, but in turn it would be illegal to drive your own car- public trans would be mandatory..."

  • I need help: I've really screwed up with college.?

Ok, so last semester I was evicted from my dorm because of a stupid prank I knew about but didn't tell the police, and due to all the stress that followed I didn't do so hot in my class finals and got put on acedemic probation.

I really should have taken this semester off to get my head together (I took the eviction, moving back home, and the anger of being so wronged by my school really hard) but I went to school and took a full load. Well, now I am failing 3 of my classes and it's after the "W" drop date. There's no way to pull up my grades in time for finals and I think I'm going to fail out of school. I was just hoping someone out there can offer me advice to talk to addmissions about getting the classes dropped or do you know if maybe I explained that I'm really sad and it's been a stressful semester/situation they won't kick me out for being a bad student. I don't know what to do and I'm really scared. Thank you so much for any help.

  • What's a good theme for my grandparent's 50th anniversary party?

My family and I are planning a party (that they know about) for them this July. We're just a little stuck on a good theme. The party will have about 30-50 people invited and we want to have a good time and be memorable. Thanks for your ideas!
