  • How to make a computer silent?

After reformatting, my computer which runs Win XP OS does not quiet down the fan noise, as it is supposed to, after boot up. I believe this may be a driver issue as this problem occurred only after reformatting. Any assistance to fix this problem is appreciated. Thanks.

  • What is the difference between d=vt and d=(vt)/2?

In the acceleration problem that I am working on distance=(velocity * time)/2. All these years I thought distance = (velocity * time) without being divided by two. I am sure the latter case is also used but I don't understand the difference between distance=(velocity * time)/2 and distance = (velocity * time) and the difference between when they are used. I don't know why velocity times time should be divided by two. This question is kind of a follow up to the question I asked earlier http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=201011...

Looking at that question would help you better address my question. Thanks...

  • Some information about AP credits!?

I took AP exams this spring and got the lowest score among them all that is 3 in AP Calculus AB. Although most colleges accept 3 for credit, the college I am going to requires a minimum of 4 for credit. So I was just wondering whether I can apply for credit in some other college showing my AP score of 3 and then transfer the credits to my college. Any useful information regarding this matter is greatly appreciated.

  • Could you help me balance this redox equation?

    The redox equation is

Cl2 (2 is a subscript)=Cl{-1}+OCl{-1} The numbers within the flower brackets {} are charges.

While trying to balance this equation, I have a hard time separating the equation into half-reactions because Cl2 is the only reactant. Detailed explanation and work out through the problem are greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

  • Help choosing the right ACT test prep book!?

For the first time in my life, I took the ACT test held recently on June 13th, and I got a composite score of 24, which made me think of retaking the test. To prepare for this test, I borrowed a princeton review 2006 edition from the public library, thinking that the older version of the test prep will not make any difference. For my surprise, I was wrong. Most of the questions in the ACT weren't similar to that of the book I had used for my prep.

Realizing ACT's fast changing style and increasing the difficulty in the test, I am willing to buy a book that is based on recent tests. Since I will retaking my test in august, I will not have much time to be prepared.

So what I am looking for is a book that will help me to increase my score to above 30 in a limited time. But I am willing to put in any amount of effort into it. Any other alternatives to help me increase my score are acceptable. Thanks in advance.

  • where can I find a insect catching net?

My biology project requires me to catch atleast 30 different insects and pin them. In my personal opinion, an insect catching net could help me trap flying insects, but I haven't so far found an insect catching net in any stores (like Kmart, Walmart etc.) nearby. Please suggest me some places where they sell insect catching net. I would also prefer shopping the item online, if the shipping price is reasonable. Thanks in advance for your help.

I know my question looks funny and silly but I really want to know how was Einstein capable to know things like "time stops when a body travels at the speed of light in space" (I think you know what I mean) without doing any practical experiment in space.
