MIXTURE Differential Equations?
A tank initially holds 80 gal of brine containing 1/8 lb of salt per gallon. Another brine solution, containing 1lb per gallon of salt, is poured into the tank at the rate of 4 gallon per minute and the well-stirred mixture leaves at the rate of 8 gal per min. Find the
a) amount of salt in the tank at any time.
b) amount of salt in the tank after 3 mins.
c) time when the tank will hold 40gal solution.
Im sorry, but i cant solve it. THANKS IN ADVANCE. Hoping for a detailed solution.
1 AnswerMathematics10 years agoNEWTONS LAW OF COOLING Differential Equations?
At 1:00pm., a thermometer reading 70F is taken outside where the air temperature is -10F (ten below zero). At 1:02pm., the reading is 26F. At 1:05pm., the thermometer is taken back indoors, where the air is at 70F. What is the temperature reading at 1:09pm?
Thanks in advance. Hoping for a detailed solution. USE DIFFERENTIAL EQUATION.

At 9:00am, a thermometer reading 70F is taken outdoors, where the temperature is -10F (ten below zero). At 1:02pm, the reading is 26F. At 1:05pm, the thermometer is taken back indoors, where the air is at 70F. What is the temperature reading at 1:09pm?
Thanks in advance. Hoping for a detailed solution. Use differential equation.
1 AnswerMathematics10 years agoCOMPOUND INTEREST Differential Equations?
A certain sum of money P draws interest compounded continuously. If at a certain time there are (Po) dollars in the account, determine the time when the principal attains the value 2(Po) dollars. If the annual interest rate is
a) 2% or
b) 4%.
Use differential equation. THANKS IN ADVANCE. Hoping for a detailed solution

Just before midday, the body of an apparent homicide victim is found in a room that is kept at a constant temperature of 70F. At 12 noon, the temperature of the body is 80F at 1PM it is 25F. Assume that the temperature of the body at the time of death was 98.6F and that it has cooled in accord with Newton's Law. What was the time of death?
Thanks in advance. Hoping for a detailed solution.
1 AnswerMathematics10 years agoGROWTH AND DECAY Differential Equations?
A bacterial population B is known to have a rate of growth proportional to B itself. If between noon and 2PM, the population triples, at what time, no controls being exerted, should B become 100 times what it was at noon?
Thanks in advance. Hoping for a detailed solution.
1 AnswerMathematics10 years agoSIMPLE ELECTRIC CIRCUIT Differential Equation?
When a simple electric circuit containing no condensers but having inductance and resistance has the electromotive force removed, the rate of decrease of the current is proportional to the current. The current is i amperes t secs. after the cut-off, and i=40amperes when t=0. If the current dies down to 15 amperes in 0.01 secs., find i in terms of t.
