He always wears the same flag pin with some symbol on it? Anyone know what it is?

I am 55 years old, was raised in small, rural Methodist churches where my dad was a minister. I went to Sunday School, knew all the hymns by heart and was probably always considered real "straight laced" by my acquaintances. I was and still am a devout and sincere Christian. Then, about 30 years ago or more it seems like the world suddenly changed. Because I am a rather liberal Democrat in my political life I found myself shocked by conservative "Christian" rhetoric. In their view, it seemed, I had never really been a Christian at all. It seemed crystal clear that simply because I was a progressive Democrat many Christians no longer considered me a "fellow Christian." As a result I have become more tolerant toward people of different faiths and differences of all kinds. And I would like to think I am more open to differences of Christian practice and interpretation. But I also feel hurt and embittered in that it seems my feelings of "brotherhood" and fellowship with fellow Christians have been maliciously stolen from me.

I am curious if other people have any similar experiences or feelings. And please......I know it will be hard to resist.......but could all you outspoken right-wingers please resist the temptation to spout your venom and cruelty.......just this once?!?!?! I am seeking honest and sincere answers.
