  • Would a Christian in the Middle East say As-Salamu Alaykum, or would they use another salutation?

In other words, is As-Salamu Alaykum an Arabic greeting, or is it a Muslim greeting?

If As-Salamu Alaykum is an Arabic greeting, I imagine Muslim, Christian, and Jew alike would use this greeting.

But if it is a strictly Muslim greeting, I imagine there is a Christian alternative... if so, what is it?

  • What does a very low CRP level in your blood mean?

I had 0.02 mg/dl in my blood and my doctor didn't say it was low, but he circled it on the result paper I got, with a concerned face. (Well, the concerned face doesn't mean anything; my doctor's a bit of an enigma.) Anyways, my paper tells me that normal levels are below 0.3 mg/dl, and mine is 0.02 mg, my doctor circled the place on my blood test result place with a concerned face, and I wanna know what it means.

    Thank you!

  • Has Spain ever been under foreign control? (Apart from Moorish rule and Napoleon's?)?

And have there been any successful (or unsuccessful) foreign invasions into Spain?

  • Does the universe have magnetic poles?

The north pole of a compass needle points towards Earth's north geographic pole (Earth's south magnetic pole).

    okay...

Earth's south magnetic pole is on the top/up-side in all the pictures we see of the solar system in textbooks etc. This can be explained by saying that Earth's south magnetic pole is aligned with the Sun's north pole; thus the Sun's north magnetic pole is on the top/up side of the solar system plane we see in textbooks.

Then again, is the solar system plane on the plane of the milky way galaxy? I dunno. But assuming it is, we can infer that the milky way galaxy has a north pole that is on the bottom/down side relative to how we see stuff on Earth; thus when we stand on Earth's south geographic pole and look up, we are looking in more or less the same direction as the milky way galaxy's north magnetic pole.

And so on and so forth until we're talking about the universe. Except I don't know if things like galaxy clusters etc. complicate this cycle.

  • Strange hair... What race am I?

Ok... so I have a Japanese dad and a white American mom (German/British ancestry). And my dad has really fine silky hair, and my mom has thick wavy hair.

Now, my hair is something completely different.

It's not just wavy, it's quite curly, and thick... but it's soft, and sort of silky to the touch. It's at its longest now at 4 inches (I'm growing it to get dreads) and when I let it dry naturally, my hair just sort of stands straight out of my head making a pseudo-afro that's not quite curly enough to be called an afro.

So, I'm wondering does anybody out there have hair like mine? I have other friends that are half white-half Japanese and they usually have white hair or Asian hair. Maybe hispanic, or a mix of Arab with white? Dunno. Would appreciate an answer.

  • How much money exists in the world right now, in US Dollars?

Crazy question. But since everybody know the population of the world, it would seem like somebody out there would know the "money-population" of the world. I mean, every single human bean on the planet has some money, and if not, they've got stuff they can exchange for money. So I wonder if there are any estimates on the value of the world?

  • What is Lupe Fiasco's reputation like?

I'm living in Japan, and I like Lupe Fiasco's music.

However, I have learned that there are people in the States who don't like him.

    Personally, I don't understand why.

I'm guessing the reason why people don't like him is because he's different. Precisely the reason why I do like him.

(Different in the sense that he just doesn't fit into the "hip-hop" stereotype. He rides skateboards, and he's just... different. You know what I mean. You either like his differentness, or you hate it. Sorta like with Kanye, except they're different in different ways. lol)

Anyways, let me know if this is why some people don't like him.

PS. Please don't let this have anything to do with his faith. What I'm saying is, if you're gonna say you don't like him because he's Muslim, you don't need to write it.

I'm aware of such sentiments already, and these are not what I am asking for.
