  • How to get inspired for a Christmas story?

Please help!! I have a premise, characters, and a desire to write a really good Christmas story of 10,000 or so words, and I have even written the first 1,500 words, but somewhow, I just don't feel inspired, even though I really want to. Once I get into writing, it comes effortlessly, but sometimes I need a little push in the right direction. Please help inspire me, or give me some good suggestions, to write a really great Christmas story! Thank you! :)

  • Story Ideas...Need to write the same story from 5 different viewpoints?

Hi, I'm writing a Young Adult series of short stories for a client, and I want them to be five different versions of the same story. The trouble is, I can't figure out what a good plot line could be that could be told interestingly from 5 different POVs. Does anyone have ideas?? Thank you!!!

  • View from Lihue (Kauai) Airport Terminal???? Easy 10 points!!!!?

I've never been to Kauai before but I'm writing a book about a girl who goes there. I wrote this paragraph describing her arrival:

Lihue Airport is busy. The moment I step off the plane, I am greeted by warm Hawaiian sunlight that spills through the wide windows of the terminal. Outside, I can see rolling hills covered in lush green grass, giving way to distant mountains. Palm trees pepper the landscape, and the ocean glitters in the distance.

Can someone please tell me if she really would be able to see this view from the terminal?? I've tried Googling maps and pictures, but I want to be 100% accurate. Thanks!!

  • How can I get in touch with Micky Dolenz of the Monkees?

I am a published author who is considering writing a book about the Monkees as a tribute to the late Davy Jones. Although I have been provided with a home address for drummer Micky Dolenz, I am having some difficulty getting ahold of a phone number for him. If possible, I would like to talk with him in order to gain some insight on writing this book. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I could go about this?

  • How much should I charge for a weekend-long babysitting job?

I have 12 or 13 years of extensive babysitting experience, but I've never stayed a full weekend at a client's house before. Recently, I was asked to babysit for two girls (ages 5 and 7) and stay the weekend at their house while their parents take a short trip. This would involve staying over 2 (possibly 3) nights and feeding, bathing, and playing with the girls, as well as picking them up from school (possibly dropping them off there, too, if I stay Thursday night), and driving them somewhere on Saturday. Their mom has left it kind of in my lap to do some research as to what I should charge for the weekend.

I'm 24, and as I said, I've had extensive babysitting and nanny-type experience. The job will either extend Friday through noon on Sunday or Thursday evening through noon on Sunday. What should I charge for 2 nights? For 3? What have you charged and/or paid your babysitters for this type of situation? Thank you soooo much! I really appreciate it!!

  • San Francisco Bay Area info?

Ok, this is for a story I'm going to write. The main character is a girl who lives in a San Francisco Bay Area town (The town itself will be fictional). I like the climate/the proximity to the city/etc. about the area, but the problem is, I've never been there...and yes, I know I can Wikipedia info on it...but I'd love to have the insight of people who live in or know the SF Bay area, in order to make my story realistic. I do want the fictional town to be near a beach...would the beach be on the bay or on the Pacific Ocean itself? What other kinds of details are integral to a story in this setting? Thank you sooooooo much!!!!!

  • Self tanner help!!! How can I get rid of blotchy skin?

Okay my wedding is in 3 days, and I need a little help with evening out my self tanner. I have been using Jergens Natural Glow on my legs and feet only, so thankfully my arms and upper body are fine, and my legs are OKAY, and probably look like a very healthy tan from a distance but up close they are just a little bit splotchy in some places. NOT majorly, but just a little bit. It really BUGS me though, because I want my skin to be even toned all over, especially for the wedding night and my honeymoon!!! It's driving me nuts because I've tried super hard to follow all the directions on the bottle and I"ve spent a lot of time doing it. Maybe I'm just stressing...but I wanna look as perfect as I can for the wedding!!! Please help!!!!!!!

  • What are some great thriller movies?

Okay I need some help!! I feel like I've watched every thriller/horror movie in my local video rental place, but I'm sure there are lots I have missed. I don't like predictable bloody killing-spree movies, nor do I like action thrillers about government conspiracies and spies and stuff like that. The kind of thrillers I love are the psychological thrillers involving creepy old houses, little kids, families, disturbing circumstances, hauntings, etc. To give you an idea, some that I like are "Hide and Seek," "Deadline," "The Others," "Homecoming," "The Hand that Rocks the Cradle," "Stepfather," "Joshua," "Godsend," "What Lies Beneath," and a lot more that I can't think of right now. So, my question is, what are some similar movies I could rent???? Thanks! =)

  • American Girl Doll preferences?

I am a 22 year old AG Doll collector, and I'm really excited because I'm getting a new AG Doll for my birthday in April. I just got Rebecca for Christmas, and she is one of my treasures. I keep her in her box to protect her. For my birthday, I want to choose Ruthie, and I was just curious which doll everyone likes better and why:

    Ruthie or Rebecca?

Also, sometime in the near future, I want to buy one of the retired AG Dolls of the year from eBay, and I am totally stumped as to whether I should get Jess or Marisol. This is the one I really need help on!!! So please tell me who you'd choose and why!!

    Thank you so much!!

I am probably going to be getting a sugar glider soon (I can't wait!) I'm going to choose a girl, and I want to pick out a really cute name for her, but not like Nutmeg or Cinnamon. I want a people name, but a cutesy one. I've already come up with Zoie and Roxie. Which of the two do you like better? And what other names can you suggest? Thanks =)

  • Help! How can he avoid another Christmas like this?!?

I have a friend who used to be obsessed with collecting model trains when he was little. He is with me right now, and is dying for me to ask this. He is almost 19, and has not been into trains for several years. He has other interests, but everybody in his family thinks he is still obsessed with them, no matter what he tells them. He gets them for Christmas, his birthday, and any other holiday that can be used as an excuse for gift-giving. He hates them and tries to sell them on eBay, but the more he sells, the more he gets. His dad is a fanatical train obsessor that eats, sleeps, and breathes trains, and is complete denial of the fact that my friend prefers anything to trains. The more my friend tries to tell his dad, the more his dad piles on the trains. Is there any effective way to communicate to his family once and for all that he is SICK and TIRED of anything that runs on tracks?
