  • How binding is an Employer/Employee contract? ?

My company has a contract with one of our customers that has a location in another state. Therefore, they needed someone to temporarily go to that location with perdiem  pay for a year. Nothing was given up front for the position (i.e. no cash up front pay or bonus). I volunteered to go fill the position for a year. I am currently at month 5 of 12 and need to go home. I don’t except to maintain my job back home either and that is ok. My problem is, my boss made me sign a contract that basically just stated that I would go for a year and fulfill the duties required of me. This was not a legal form, just a hand typed letter with stated expectations of me for this position. How binding is that “contract” between them and I? I am worried about possible lawsuit issues since I know they don’t have anyone to replace me and will be effecting their relationship with the high paying customer if I leave.

  • Can you pay someone else's dues in a Yahoo Fantasy Cash league?

I am the commish in a Yahoo fantasy cash league but have 1 guy that is unable to "verify" his account to pay his dues through Yahoo. He wants to give me the cash and have me pay his dues online. I feel like this should be possible to do but I cant figure it out. Hate to have an entire league refunded and converted to a private cash league due to 1 person unable to pay due to Yahoos stupid "verify" procedures.

  • Child Care Tax Question?

My wife and I paid a non licensed friend $7200 in 2012 for child care. Come tax time, when putting in the information, it requires a Name, Address, and SSN for the person who provided the day care, if not licensed. When we asked our "friend" for their SSN, they refused and asked why we needed it.

Of course we told them it was for tax purposes and they stated that they already filed their taxes and did not claim the $7200. Now they are refusing to give us the proper info we need to do our taxes properly. What can we do?

We are out nearly $1400 in returns that we are eligible for and can not get it without the SSN....

  • Why does the Social Security system face a crisis?

Are there real assets in the Social Security Trust Fund that can be used to pay future benefits? Will the trust fund help to avert higher future taxes or benefit reductions or both when the baby-boomers retire?

  • How do I calm a dog who seems untrainable?

I have a 14 month old German Shepherd (full bread) female dog who is beginning to get on my last nerve. I am deployed overseas and have 4 months left to go. My wife is at home on her last leg with our dog. She is very friendly but is extremely wild. She tears whole fence planks off our privacy fence, tears anything and everything up, basically she is uncontrollable. When she was younger and I was home she was not this bad but ever since I have been gone, she has become wild. She has been through obedience classes and even gone to extreme measures in putting a shock collar on her. Any ideas I can pass to my wife to get her under control before she is forced to get rid of her?
