Calculus Help! Trigonometric Substitution.?
Integral of (-3) / (y^2 + 4y +5)
you have to complete the square on the denominator (I think!).
I am getting 3arccot(y+2) + C and when tried a different way I get 3arccsc(sqrt((y+2)^2+1).
Please help! I would really like to know what I am doing wrong...
As always the best answer will be rewarded the 10pts.
Thanks!
1 AnswerMathematics1 decade agoIntegration by Parts?
How do I solve this?
[2,4]integral(x^2)(lnx)dx
I used the integration by parts formula but am getting
[(1/3)(4)ln(4) - (1/3)(2)ln(2)] - [1/9(4^3-2^3)]
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!
Thanks!!

I just bought a "Refurbished" iPhone that comes with a 90 day warranty. The APP extends this warranty out one year to include technical support/defect replacement, not damage. It is $70 is this worth it? Please explain!!! Earn those two points! =)
