  • 160mm Rear IS adaptor not fitting 160mm disk?

So i have a 160mm shimano rear disk brake and shimano mechanical caliper. The problem is when i mount the 20mm post to is mount adaptor there is not enough clearance for the caliper to be mounted over the disk. I have tried a couple different adaptors and they all say they are made to fit a rear 160mm disk but from what i can see they might only fit a 140mm disk only. What am i missing here?

  • which big game reel?

Im looking for a big game baitcasting reel but unsure what to get. LeIm looking for a big game baitcasting reel but unsure what to get. Leaning towards a star drag because from what i hear they are cheaper. Willing to spend about $300 but i want something built to last solid and reliable made of stainless steel if possible without any bells and whistles or plastic bitts so the less moving parts the better. This will be used in salt water fishing for shark from the shore or jetty. I only fish with live bait and dont use any lures that need to be worked or constantly retrieved so gear ratio should

probably be around 4 to 5:1? Any good advice be appreciated

    Thanks

i've recently taken a bleep test due to an application process to become a fireman and found out that i have no cardio..i cant even run for a couple minutes without getting out of breath. So my question is this..if i start running how long on average should it take to get into good condition and score atleast a 9.6 on the 20 m shuttle run test?

  • quality difference between cz 452 and marlin xt-22?

the two i'm considering are cz 455 lux and marlin xt-22 stainless steel barrel/synthetic stock.

The cz is much more expensive and i'd like to know why.. is it the walnut stock? is the accuracy really that much better? For sure the cz is much nicer to look at but i'm thinking the stainless steel/synthetic marlin should last longer under harsh conditions. so why is the marlin so cheap? I'm looking for a good quality durable reliable and accurate rifle which i know the cz is but when it comes to the marlin the price makes me suspicious it has to be cheap for a reason is it cheaply made low quality or is the price difference all in the synthetic stock?

  • importing a crossbow into the NT?

Northern Territory being one of the only states in Australia where crossbows are a controlled weapon so the only restriction should be that a person must be over 18 years old.

But how does this work when importing a crossbow from the United States by mail? according to the customs website you need to fill out a form in which permission is granted by some authority.

On this form it asks for a genuine reason to own a crossbow which seems to go beyond the 18+ limitation..what can one put as a genuine reason if they don't belong to any club or collect these things? i just want to shoot targets in the back yard and maybe go pig hunting at some point in the future (i don't have any sort of hunting license at this point)

so whats a good "genuine reason" to give to the nanny state?

Only relevant answers from people who know what they are talking about please!!

  • 3 old tires & 1 new one?

i punctured the side wall and had to get rid of one of my tires, i replaced it with the spare which is the same tire as all the rest but its new and has about 3-4mm better thread. car is a rear wheel drive nissan patrol 4x4 and the tire is in the front. The car doesn't sway to one side while driving so its ok that way but i'm thinking once its in 4wd could that 4mm difference mess something up?

  • problem camera body or lens?

I have just bought a brand new Canon EF 24mm f2.8 lens and went out just to take some sample shots.

I noticed something strange.. its a clear day and i was just pointing the camera a 20D by the way at some trees and cars shooting in manual mode @ f2.8 and the exposure meter stayed at its maximum and went down only as i adjusted the shutter speed to between 2 and 30 seconds which is obviously impossible to hand hold without getting blur its impossible to set it where it should be as it jumps from one extreme to the other I then tried to put the camera into full auto mode same thing happened the camera took at least 2 seconds to take the shot. I quickly tried all my other lenses suspecting the camera body has a problem but it behaved normal so it only happens with the 24mm. This is very strange because surely a lens which is only a piece of glass cant cause the camera to do this but if it was the camera wouldn't it be happening with all my lenses???

If somebody out there who had this happen to them could shed some light on the situation it would be greatly appreciated. i have 7 days to return the lens if i choose to but is it possible for a lens to cause this?

  • need some photo editing help?

Here's what i'm trying to do. the simplest way to explain it would be, lets say you have a photograph on your computer screen and you click on "zoom in" a couple times. now you have a slightly different image since you enlarged a part of it and left a part out.

my question is how do i make the whole photo look like the above slightly zoomed in image taking up the same space on the computer screen without having it look like it was cropped?

I have tried to zoom in and then crop the photo but i don't like the results as it looks smaller on the screen. i have photoshop elements 2.0, gimp and photoscape. any way to accomplish this enlarging a part of the photograph without having it look like it was cropped?
