2 AnswersHomework Help6 years agoMuscles extremely tight and painful and will not stay stretched out after workout. It is effecting my day. Help!?

I just got back in the gym after a long time. I began a fairly intense lifting routine. I am 4 days in and saturday was bicep, back, and calves day. I had a great workout.
Yesterday(sunday) I woke up and my calves were sore as expected, but my biceps were so extremely tight that my arms rested bent at a 100 degree angle. Stretching them out was extremely painful and took some time. I was getting very frustrated because I would spend minutes stretching out my arms to only have them tighten up again in 10 minutes. Stretching was futile, so don't tell me to stretch. The muscles also appear pumped up as if I had just worked them. It is important to mention I have been drinking plenty of water.
Today (Monday) I woke up and my arms were a little better. It is still agonizing to stretch them out, but I have more range of motion. They still appear pumped up. Calves were not a problem either.
This evening I went to the gym for a run, leg, and abdominals day thinking some activity would loosen up my tight muscles. Finished my workout, soaked in a cold bath hoping it may prevent my from having the same symptoms.
I am now sitting down and when I rose to walk, my calves were so tight and painful that I could not stand up straight. It is the same story. I can spend minutes stretching out my calves to walk around, but as soon as I sit down they tighten right up.
I am afraid I will not be able to walk to class tomorrow. What happened? What do I do?
Thanks!

I have a dermatologist appointment today and if they decided to take blood for any reason would they say something to me if I had been smoking weed? They wouldn't even be screwing for it but do they run tests for that stuff always? I'm not even sure they're taking blood.
