After reading the thread and responses about using the .223 for deer it made me curious about largest caliber. I have always been told the .338 Win Mag. was overkill. However after using one for myself I found it is very well suited using a 200 grain or lighter bullet. 1 well placed shot, deer goes down, no tracking. What more could You want? And yes I have done the same thing with a .25-06 rem, .280 rem and .30-06 sprg but not with the same consistancey.

Is it a firearm that jumps out at You when Your not looking? Is it a firearm thatwalks around on its own and shoots people without a human being pulling the trigger? Someone please tell me how a firearm assualts anything. In My 30 years of firearm experience I have never been assualted by one these visious 'Assualt Weapons" everybody keeps talkin about. Get a life people and and quit blaming guns for actions of idiot humans! Baseball bats, pocket knives, cars, blenders and even skilets are assualt weapons and none of them can be fired.
