  • How do I install a bathroom fan with the duct pipe on the wrong side?

I am installing a new bathroom fan, as the people who last lived in this house completely removed their 30-year-old contraption before they left for some reason. The problem is, every fan I can see at the store has its pipe/vent (sorry, don't know the proper name for this) on the opposite side of the pipe/vent hole on the inside of where the fan will be installed in the ceiling. What can I do about this?

  • Why is this dog developing bleeding sores and bumps all over his body?

My aunt's dog, a greyhound-jack russel cross, is about 12 years old and has had warts for the last few years, including a particularly large, reddish one on the side of his snout. Lately, he broke this large wart and was bleeding everywhere, but pulled it off of his face since. Now, he has been developing sores randomly - under his nose, between his toes, along his lips - and his eyes are swelling and reddening.

His lymph nodes have been slightly swollen for the last week, but have since ballooned considerably around his neck. Now, they are vanishing and/or moving around his neck. Today, one disappeared totally, but he has suddenly developed a large, bleeding sore under his neck. Now, his ears are showing some sort of brownish discharge as well.

The vet prescribed pills for a fever, allergies, and infection. She also gave hibiscrub to clean his sores and bleeding warts with. We have been diligently giving him these scrubs and pills everyday, but no one is entirely sure why he would randomly develop and lose these sores. He is literally getting 2-3 new sores everyday. What could be the reason?

  • Can I use Turtle Beach X12s?

I'm debating whether or not to pick up the Turtle Beach X12 headset for my Xbox 360 gaming experience. I have a TV with PC Audio Output (a green headphone jack) and a red and white pair of jacks (L and R, apparently) above those. Plugging conventional headphones into the green jack does nothing.

I'm not sure if I have the capability to hook up the X12s to my current setup like this. I don't want to buy any additional adapters and would like to know if it's possible to use them just like this.

  • Synaptics pointing device - left click is constantly on?

My laptop has a touchpad and a 'button bar' beneath it for left and right-clicking. I've always used the bar rather than tapping the pad for clicks, but just tonight, neither tapping or clicking works at all on the left side. I can right-click without a problem and I can scroll down pages by running my finger down the right side of the touchpad, but neither will let me left-click. I'm resorting to using a USB mouse to get around.

So when I looked at the Synaptics Pointing Device icon on my taskbar, I've noticed that the icon shows the green light on my left click constantly on. It goes off if I restart the computer, but as soon as I right-click with the button bar, the left-click green light lights back up again and stays there.

I've tried cleaning the touchpad, I've tried lifting the bar to spray compressed air under it (unsuccessfully, I couldn't even lift it with the tiniest pin), I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all USB root hubs and the Synaptics driver, and nothing has worked. It's still constantly on. I believe my laptop is still under warranty from the place I bought it at, but it'd save me a lot of hassle if I could just fix it myself somehow. I can't select 'tap to click' either, it's grayed out and it's not in my device properties for some reason. Help?

  • Amazon gift wrapping - where's the bill?

When you get something gift-wrapped from Amazon, where does the bill/invoice go? Is it inside the wrapping or on the outside? I ask because I plan to do my Christmas shopping on Amazon, but I don't want the people I'm buying for to know what the gift is before they even unwrap it.

  • Computer fan goes nuts when I run flash games?

When I run Flash games, my computer fan starts blowing like I've just set the computer on fire. I've cleared any dust out of the machine with compressed air and it's not an old one; it's maybe 2-3 years old. Is this a RAM issue (ie, I need more RAM, I have 1 gig), or has it got to do with an insufficient processor? Or is it something altogether different?

  • Where does BatchDPG put files?

I'm trying to transcode some .avi files with BatchDPG v1.0 and have specified in the Settings a temp dir and an output dir. After the files are finished transcoding, they never show up in either of the directories as a .dpg file - or at all. They certainly do transcode, though; the process goes on for about two hours or more, depending on how long of a queue I have set. Where is BatchDPG putting all these files?

  • Head hurts when neck is turned.?

For the past two days now, I've awoken with severe migraines on one side of my head. First it was the right, then it was the left side. They gradually diminish, apparently as my sinuses drain, but continue to flare up briefly if I turn my head and neck the 'wrong way'.

My sinuses are pretty much always dripping in the back of my throat and causing me to have to hack up mucus. I'm almost always able to sniffle a bit, but lately there hasn't been too much nasal congestion. There is a small, painless bump that has been on the bottom left side of my neck for a few years now, and hasn't grown or multiplied that I can feel or see.

  • I have a comp running XP. Offline, it runs fine. Off a D-Link wired router, it blue screens me. What's up?

My original comp runs Vista. The blue screen on the XP comes up at random and isn't the result of overheating, as the machine's hovering about 40C at its highest now. The error I get reads like so:

    PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA

    STOP: 0x00000050 (0xE12E2000, 0x00000001, 0x80588324, 0x00000001)

  • Fuzzy, black worms - what are these things?

Lately, I've been finding a lot of tiny black worms (1/4 inch long) hiding in the fibers of my carpet. They're slightly fuzzy and have about five long, thin hairs sticking out their back ends. They have six legs and a pale whitish-beige underbelly. I've looked up images of larder beetle larvae, since I've seen some of them sneak in through the wall cracks from my balcony outside, but they don't really look similar; they're a lot smaller, a lot less fuzzy, and the larder beetle grubs don't seem to have the back-end hairs these worms do.

  • I have a 4.7gb DVD-R and am trying to burn a 600mb avi onto it. It becomes 5200mb+ and won't fit - how to fix?

The program I'm using is CyberFix PowerProducer, and I'm wondering if it'd be better to convert the avi to an mpeg or other format, or if there's some way/program I can use to shrink it without cutting out any of the playback. The DVD-R can hold 120min of video, and the file I'm trying to burn onto it is just a second under, but for some reason, over 1000MB over.
