Hiya, I am 16 years old and a fish enthusiast! I only have one 3ft setup, however my knowledge of freshwater tropical fish is extensive. I love learning more about fish such as latin names and new species unknown to the common aquarists. I learn by reading the PFK mag and forums on www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/forum I like to help new aquarists, so if you need help I`m here!
Standard protocol in web design?
I'm a fairly competent web programmer. But there is one thing that always bugs me!
Is it SP to place (for example) your register file in a relevant directory as register.php (ie /account/register.php) or should you place it as the index file of a register directory (ie /register/)
I feel the register directory is neater, but what do you use and what "should" i use as SP?
Thanks

1 AnswerChemistry1 decade agoRate of universe expansion, and theory that rate is accelerating?
I heard on a documentary that scientists have gathered evidence which may suggest the universe is not only expanding, but its rate of expansion is accelerating. I have always been told that the universe accelerates and the speed of light. It's impossible for anything to travel faster than the speed of light, so how can the rate of universe expansion universe be accelerating?
Many thanks
9 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoSetting up wireless repeaters (few questions)?
If i was to set up a wireless repeater,
a) would the dhcp have to be disabled on the slave hubs
b) therefore will a sperate ip be given to each device by each repeater
c) will ssid's of the repeaters have to be the same across the network, and will it automatically switch to the best connection.
d) will connecting to one repeater as the initial (first ever) connection allow all repeaters to be accessed, or will all the others have to be added in seperately (and is this only if they have the same ssid and key)
e) repeaters are all connected via ethernet, is WPA still available this way?
f) should they all be on different channels?
g) do i have to broadcast the ssid's?
h) is there anything else I should know?
Thanks! I'm alright at technical stuff but had a few questions i had not learnt by experience yet! lol
1 AnswerComputer Networking1 decade agoGraphics driver not running games as expected.?
Hi,
I have a Toshiba Equium A200 1V0, which has the Intel 965 Chipset family. I am trying to run Age of Empires 3 which needs 64mb graphics memory, and H&TL capability. My laptop has 2gb ram of which 358mb is allocated as shared memory for graphics (if that is how it works?), I also believe it has H&TL capabilities.
Whenever I try and play AOE it looks like this:
http://tinypic.com/r/2lx9nag/6
I have just installed to Windows 7 Ultimate [32 bit] (and upgraded graphics drivers to accomodate that) but it also looked like that when I was running Vista [32bit].
Ontop of this I also fit the other requrements:
1.4GHz processor (mine is 1.47GHz)
256MB RAM (I have 2GB)
Does anyone have any suggestions of why my laptop is not running this game?
Thank you!

2 AnswersMathematics1 decade agoWhy is smoking legal? It should be a Class A drug!?
I know the answer to this is most likely down to two things - Money from tax which funds the NHS and because it is so widespread and accepted all over the globe.
However, smoking should be a class A drug!
Smoking has a direct influence in the number or deaths caused by cancers due to the carcinogens in cigarette, which source [1] also proves. Deaths in males cased by lung cancer increased from 10 per 100,000 to 185 or so per 180,000 within 60 years, which is in pattern with the cigarette consumption per person per year [Consumption]. This consumption was at 4000 cigarettes per person per year. However source [2] shows us that by using the statistics given, the average smoker smokes about a pack per day. As a pack is often 20 cigarettes that means (20 * 365) = 7300 cigarettes are smoked by the average smoker every year. This is 1.75 times more than the peak of the graph in source [1] at about 4200 per year.
There is a 20 year lag in the graph between the increase in smokers and the increase in deaths caused by lung cancer.
So, the government of not just the UK, but every god damned nation has statistics every where that prove the effects of smoking not only effect those who smoke but those around them too.
The government probably makes a lot of money from cigarette tax which pays for part of the NHS. They claim they need the money for the NHS but the only reason they need it is to treat the very smokers whose tax came from the >drugs< that are killing them. So if nobody smoked we wouldn`t need so much money in the system anyway.
So why isn`t the governement doing something about it. If a 16 year old with little resources apart from basic statistics, some intelligence and common sense can come to this resolution how on earth can a government not work it out.
Tobacco (and most definately alcohol too) would be class A drugs if they were introduced now, so why can it not be removed completely. It has an immediate short term effect which is critical to the body. It has a long term effect which is critical to the body. It is an addictive substance. It causes harm to those other than those taking it. What idiot of a stupid government cannot work it out and do something about it!
What can be done to make it illegal? Quality of life, health, wealth and general; well being will be improved dramatically if smoking was illegal, however why isn`t the government making it illegal?
What is everyones views and opinions on this and what do you think can be done?

1 AnswerCell Phones & Plans1 decade agoPHP - Finding mac address?
I've been trying to get the mac address of a user using PHP. The reason I want this is so I can collect information about users using my game so banning players can be more sophisticated (IP bans are virtually useless).
Otherwise is there another language I can use to get the mac address?
I found some methods that I tried but they only returned the servers mac address. I know technically this isn't possible as it isn't sent in the headers from the browser however I know it has been done before.
Does anybody have any suggestions?
