Nursing moms or moms who have nursed I need advice/opinion.?
Obviously its ultimately my choice I am just looking for feedback. I have a one month old. We tried nursing but had to supplement with formula from day one. My production is very low despite all the tricks I've tried. Anyway. I start school and work in a week. I pump my milk instead of breastfeeding (he stopped latching on properly a week after introducing the formula). My spouse feeds the baby with the bottle while I pump. So we are both up at all feedings. I have mixed feelings about switching to all formula. To be honest I'm not sure what my hesitation is not to switch other than I know its what is best for baby. Also I have fibromyalgia and while my doctor said my pain management meds are safe during breastfeeding I don't like the idea of using them while breastfeeding. Our original plan was to try to continue to pump through the first week of school and see if I could handle it (I'm going for a nursing degree taking a condensed course). I would be a full time student Monday through Friday and working doubles on the weekend as a cna. I am wondering if trying to pump during school is a good idea or if I should stop now and let us both catch up on sleep before I start a hectic schedule? What are your thoughts/opinions/advice? Should I continue with the breastmilk or switch to all formula? Thank you in advance for your opinions.
3 AnswersNewborn & Baby8 years agoJust curious for opinions.?
I have an 11 day old baby. My pregnancy was really rough. I was very sick all 9 months even hospitalized off and on. I had Hyperemesis, a sensitivity to iron (couldn't take prenatals), and in the last month my gall bladder stopped working so I had to quit work. While pregnant having another baby after this one was the last thing I wanted unless we adopted. Now I feel like I want to try again for a girl (I have 2 boys). Am I crazy for feeling this way? After being so sick is it weird to want to go through it again? If I do have another baby it won't be for a couple of years whether we adopt or not. I know my spouse will think I'm crazy I was hoping for other people's opinions. Maybe even some insight as to who I'd want to try knowing I could be very sick again.
2 AnswersPregnancy9 years agoLadies who have had a full hysterectomy where they take your cervix too.?
Did it change your intimate experiences (after you healed)? How long before you could be intimate? My wife just had a full hysterectomy and I am worried I won't be able to satisfy her like I used to. Any advice would be a big help. I'm feeling depressed about this whole thing I love making her happy I'll be depressed if I can't.
2 AnswersWomen's Health9 years agoEctopic pregnancy and methotrexate?
What were your experiences with it? What side effects did you have? How long before you were able to successfully conceive after ectopic pregnancy? I have read all the medical info I am looking for real experiences.
1 AnswerPregnancy1 decade agoSomeone please help me feel better emotionally?
I know all the medical stuff about my situation I want personal stories to make me feel better. I went to the ER last night with vaginal bleeding. It was only really light spotting but I didn't want to take any chances. I was inseminated on May 5th, 6th, and 7th so I'm not very pregnant. My first 3 tests were VERY light positives (urine tests). I did a home test this morning to get a base line so I can track my progress on my own at home and the test was a bright positive, almost as bright as the control line. They didn't find a fetus on the scan which they said is not unusual at my stage of pregnancy, and they found no evidence of ectopic pregnancy. They ran my blood and got an HCG level of 92.7 and sent me home with a diagnosis of "threatened miscarriage." I have read that often after this diagnoses women go on to have perfectly healthy pregnancies. The few cramps I have had do not feel like miscarriage and usually happen after I eat. The spotting has slowed way down today so far. I would like to hear from any woman who has had this diagnosis and been fine. What was your experience? How long before you knew you were fine? Did you spot all through pregnancy? This is my 3 diagnosed pregnancy though I have 2 undiagnosed ones in my past. I have one living child. This doesn't really feel like any of my other pregnancies but I can't seem to stop the worry. Any kind words or good stories would be greatly appreciated. We have been trying to have a baby for so long. BTW my last failed pregnancy was over 6 years ago and all were due to things that could be diagnosed. (stress and unknown chemical exposure)
