  • What's a name you love but won't even use?

Mine is Quinn, for a boy or a girl. I love it, but I just don't think it blends well with the other names I like and I'm not sure I like how short it is (limits nickname options).

    What about you?

  • Nickname for Margaret?

I love Margaret. I think it's perfect for our sibset and it sounds great with the middle name we've picked out (Elaine)... but I'm not keen on any of the nicknames for it. Any suggestions other than Maggie/Margie/Peggy?

    Current sibset:

    Anthony Ryan

    Elizabeth Grace

    Francis James

    Margaret Elaine

    Anthony, Ellie, Frankie, and ____?

    Thanks in advance!

  • Nickname for Elizabeth: Ellie or Elsie?

My boyfriend's mother is named Elizabeth and she goes by Ellie, a name that's always been a favorite of mine. However, I think Elsie might be a nice way to honor her without copying her name (maybe even spell it Elisabeth?)

    Thanks!

  • Why do people strive to give their kids "unique" names?

I work in a gift shop where we personalize bracelets. I have children come in all the time who are so excited because they can finally have something with their name on it.

I guess I just don't understand the appeal of an extremely unique name, or a normal name with a unique spelling. Most of the kids seem angry or frustrated by it, sor why is it so popular among parents nowadays?

    A few examples:

    Braylon

    Bryer

    Meighla

Kayleigha (pronounced like Kay and Leah combined)

    Wesson

    Camron

    Ogden

    Kaelinn

    Alizabeth

    Alivia

    Jayde

    Lyndsee

    Izabela

    Destynee

    Lyric

    Jaxmier

    Antwansha

  • Which name do you prefer: Elizabeth or Eliza?

    Elizabeth "Ellie" Grace

    Eliza Grace

I really adore Elizabeth/Ellie. It's been my favorite for a long time. It's also my boyfriend’s mother's name and I adore he as well; but Eliza is more uncommon and I still really love it.

    Thoughts?

  • What's your opinion on these names?

    Jacob Edward

Charles Wilson IV (nicknamed Wil because there is already two Charlie's and a Charles)

    Alyssa Marie

    Mackenzie Lyn

All are family names except Mackenzie. Jacob, Charles Wilson, Alyssa, Marie, and Lyn are not likely to change!

    Thanks
