7 AnswersMusic & Music Players1 decade agoWhat's your opinion of my poem?
I usually don't understand why people write sport poems, but volleyball is a big part of my life, so I decided to write one. I've described each stanza by position: server, passer, setter, spiker, blocker, and the point, then just the team.
Volleyball
Concentration and strategy
Seeking the perfect placement
Taking that last deep breath
And sending your weapon across the court
The ball is fiercely afloat
Barely missing the floor
Being saved by an always ready passer
Keeping the game alive
Swift movements and quick fingertips
Attentive gestures following the ball
Assisting for the team
Beautifully setting up for the kill
The blood lust in their eyes
The fear within the opponents
Quick footsteps and an electric arm swing
Stomping on anyone in the way
Keeping a steady eye on the assassin
Watching their body language
Timing it perfectly
And feeling the force of the ball against palms
Dreading the dropping of the bomb
Everyone scurries forward
Hoping to keep the game alive
But hoping it falls on the other side
We read each other’s minds and communicate
This is our game
This is our friendship
We are a team
5 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoStardust. Opinions? Comments?
I don't usually make my poems rhyme, but I did for this one.
Stardust
Magic stardust grant me one wish
Magic stardust show me heavenly bliss
I wish with all of my heart
Turn my life into a work of art
Turn my world right side up
Put all the wrong inside of a tight cup
Dance around with all the little fairies
One day everything will be perfectly merry
So, magic stardust this is what I say
I say evacuate all the disruptions and put them at bay
Turn the little key and lock them away
Forever happy I will stay
3 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think of my poem? Lost.?
I wrote it one day when I was really down in the dumps...
Lost
I want to be lost
And set forth on an adventure
My mind is always waiting
To take over my world
My head is the only safe place
My heart is easily broken
You may take my strength
But you may not take my thoughts
I want to be lost in my mind
And never come out
For fantasy is the only happy place
That I’ve ever been able to find
Pain is in the real world
Happiness fills my utopia
I’m tired of all the tragedies
Take me away to my universe
Any suggestions? comments?

Heavenly Bliss
Sunlight beams generously upon the earth
Heaven blesses me by being graced by you
A ray of gold follows your aura
The feeling of love drifts softly within the air
A trance your very soul entangles me
A day never passes without a glance of you
A simple boy and a simple girl
Tied together for eternity with heavenly bliss
2 AnswersPoetry1 decade agowhat do you think of this?
Coin
Many faces display on one face
The face has two sides of a coin
The dust is blown off without a remainder
Yet the sweet and sour will never join
A quarter is flipped into the distance
It is an opportunity to see the truth
If the coin lands on the gum-smeared side
We’ll finally have the well-deserved proof
Two faces of a coin
Forever bonded by one
Will never see the light
Even when it’s shone beneath the sun
What will this day bring
Heads or tails, good or bad
Everyone’s curious to see
What becomes of this two-faced-coin fad
1 AnswerPoetry1 decade agoDisney Character to represent the Greek God Poseidon?
I'm doing a project in my English class, where you have to associated the Greek Gods with something/someone. I decided to to the classic Disney characters (something no one else is doing). I've found one for all other God's except this one. King Triton ( the little mermaid's father) won't work. He is also a god, so he can't be poseidon. Nemo is too early. I would really appreciate any suggestions!!! Thanks!
4 AnswersMythology & Folklore1 decade agoWhat do you think about my poem?
I don’t know how much longer
This thread can take
I don’t know how much longer
Until it all breaks
I’m barely holding on
With butter on my fingers
I’m waiting for the new dawn
But the past always lingers
I can see a dim light
Right there in the distance
I might have to put up a fight
To hold on to my very existence
Where will anyone be
Here in this lonely place
Where darkness is all you see
And light isn’t of but a trace
The thin thread can pull me up
But what if it breaks
Or it feels just like syrup
My fingers throb with an ache
My heart is hollow
My head is spinning
And my throat takes a swallow
And I imagine a face grinning
Will I ever make it out of here
Or will the thread break
What flows down my cheek is a tear
I don’t know how much more I can take
But I will hold on
To the quickly thinning thread
Even when it is all gone
Even when there’s only one shred
6 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think about my poem?
In school, we're watching the White Squall, and we read a poem that was supposed to go with it, it was a story and it was called The Rime of ... something. Anyway, I wrote a poem that's about the Albatross from it. An Albatross is a bird that is supposed to bring good luck to sailors. What do you think?
I’m lost within a world full of clichés
Desperate for a way out
Gasping for air
And struggling for my life
Darkness fills the air about
My weary soul condenses
Should I shoot the Albatross
No, never shoot the Albatross
Endurance is needed for this drudging task
But hold on to that ounce of hope
And please don’t shoot the Albatross
The Albatross is forever graceful
And tries to help the dreadful traveler
Please don’t make it a cliché
By forgetting about it’s true nature
4 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoWhat do you think about this poem?
What do you think of my poem? But don't be brutal, and in your opinion, what is the meaning for you?
My fictional life
I’m living in a work of fiction
That doesn’t always have a happy ending
I have no prince
No 7 little dwarfs as friends
And no castle
My life isn’t a fairytale
But it isn’t nonfiction
For nothing is true
And my heart is always hanging
Onto the dream world’s trance
I’m ready for the real world
No more lies or false hopes
Turn my life into nonfiction
So everything will be real
And I can find the truth
6 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoPoll: what's you favorite song to dance to?
there's songs with meaning, songs that touch the heart, and songs that just make you wanna get up and dance, so what's your song that makes you want to dance?
20 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat do you think of my poem?
be honest, but not brutal.
Missing You
I miss you
I really do
I love you
And always will
But I know this for sure
I can’t get you back
I don’t know what happened
And I don’t know why
But of this I am sure of:
I will always be missing you
The days seem longer
The minutes slowly tick by
I wonder what I will do
Without you by my side
My heart is hollow
And the tears seem to flood
You were my guidance
My friend
My hope
But now it’s all gone
I don’t know what to do
And the pain won’t subside
I sit here on this grass
Under a shady oak
And revise the precious memories
Staring at the rock
That beholds your name
And below it
Your final resting place
4 AnswersPoetry1 decade agoIf you had your own holiday...?
If you had your own national holiday, what would the name of it be and what would it be like?
Mine would be called Laura Palooza, The colors would be blue and orange, there would be no school or work for anyone that day. The food would be chicken burritos, cheese, and funnel cakes and Mt. Dew. All you would do all day long is have fun, play games, and party!
So what would your national holiday be like?
8 AnswersPolls & Surveys1 decade agoWhat's your favorite color and why?
You can pick more than one. My favorites are blue and orange. I like them cause they're so different yet go together good. and I just like them. So what's yours and why?
