  • Logging into YouTube-difficulties!!?

I created a youtube account back in '08, I believe, just so I could save videos I liked (with a yahoo email address). I did end up posting one video in 2010 I think, but mostly it's just to save videos.

Recently, I haven't been able to save any videos to my favorites or even access the old video I made. I keep getting a screen that tells me to "Set up Your Channel on Youtube". I click continue and the screen just sits there with the little processing wheel turning. I've been trying for days. I can't save anything to my account or access my one video. I can't find anything on the help menus that addresses what I'm coming up against.

Not sure what I need to do? I've logged out several times. Logged in through Google, logged in through Youtube. But nada. How do I progress past this stupid screen that tells me "Set up My channel account"!??! I figured I did that when I first signed up with youtube.

    Stupid!!

  • How to decorate when you can't change the paint color (yet)?

We moved into our first house with completely painted walls, which was nice. Very warm shades of taupe and brown and a huge accent wall of "Poinsettia" red in the living room. I thought it would grow on me, but six months later: nada.

I enjoy more of the cooler palette and I'm finding it very difficult to decorate with things/colors I like because it'll clash and or just look off with the warm shades in the rooms.

We don't have it in our budget at the moment to repaint anything yet. But I don't like having blank walls. My husband and I both agree our place doesn't seem home-y yet because nothing is hung on the walls and things seem mismatched.

What can I do or decorate with that will flow with warm colors now and work well when we repaint? I don't want to purchase more things when we finally paint.

I know white would work well, but I don't want the upkeep of cleaning white pillows, etc.

Any ideas? So I don't have to completely redecorate when we repaint (which is a date yet to be determined).

Any websites that you think will help? I am on pinterest, but just can't think of things to search for. I hate feeling so useless and I want my house to feel like home!

    Thanks!

  • Eclectic/Thrift store shopping in downtown Denver?

I'll be heading to downtown Denver for a few days for a conference and might have some free time. I'll be staying near the convention center and will not have independent transportation.

Are there any eclectic shops or thrift store type places in the downtown area that would be fun or interesting to check out? I don't want to go shopping at the same stores that are in every city. Or any other shops/coffee places that are unique to Denver.

Something within a short walk of the center of downtown.

    Thank you so much!

  • Children's book that breaks down how things are built?

I remember a hardback children's book (from the early 90s) that took a look at, layer by layer, how things work. Castle, human body, engine, etc.

It had greatly detailed illustrations. I even remember one of the Titanic.

Does anyone know what these books were called? I know they aren't the DK Eyewitness books. They're similar, but they don't have as many illustrations, just many photos of artifacts from that subject. I love those books, too, but that's not what I'm thinking of.

The castle one in particular sticks out. Each page was a different level of the castle and drawings of what everyone's duties were and the many rooms of the castles and the purposes of it all.

Any ideas of the publishing company? Or the name of the series of books?

    Thanks!

  • How do you print pics you've taken with Instagram?

How do you print the pics you've taken with Instagram on the iPhone? Am I missing how to save them to my phone?

I'm not super interested in sharing all the pics with everyone, I'd like to print mine off.

Any tips? Hopefully ones that don't suggest buying more apps.

  • What books are you reading?

My friends and I are doing a book club this summer and I'm racking my brain for a few suggestions.

Have you guys read anything interesting lately?

Adult Fiction and in English please! I'm open to reading just about any genre in fiction, except the harlequin/bodice-ripper romance books. :)

    Thanks!!

  • Where does the Torchwood series start in relation to Doctor Who?

When does the tv show Torchwood start in the Doctor Who series? Is it when Jack is left at the end of Season 1? Or does Torchwood (the tv show) begin when Capt Jack leaves the Doctor and Martha?

I'm going to start watching it on Netflix and I'm trying to get the timeline correct in my head.

    Thanks!

  • Any other Netflix users effected by the Playstation Network ?

My husband and I attempted to watch an instant streaming movie over the weekend, but I had a feeling it wouldn't work because of the playstation network being down.

Needless to say, the playstation wouldn't connect to Netflix. Does anyone know if Netflix is going to release a statement about it or anything? I know they had nothing to do with the problem, but I feel their business might suffer from the problem as well as Sony.

Thoughts? Anyone have any info on Playstation or anyting else?

  • What are some good tips to help teach a child with Down's Syndrome?

I co-teach a sunday evening class and a wednesday evening class of pre-schoolers at my church. They are a wonderful group of kids and a tremendous joy! We have one boy with Down's Syndrome and I've been studying online some ways to help reach him and include him in our activities and story time. I've been teaching him for over a year now and he's doing much better than when his family first arrived at our church.

Sometimes it's easy and sometimes it's a challenge.

From what I've read, I understand Down's children are incredibly visual and they have to be shown what to do. I know he has hearing problems, so I speak to him close up and on his level.

He is the sweetest, most loveable child ever and I love, love, love having him around. He's always full of life, which is exciting and can also be distracting. He does have trouble sitting in one spot for extended periods of time (usually no more than a few minutes) and occasionally screams out loud. We also have to constantly watch the door for fear that he will take off running. Our other children in class are very kind to him and like having him around and always include him, but his outbursts can distract them, too.

I'm looking for some tips and suggestions from those of you with experience parenting or teaching Down's children. What else can I do to help him sit still? Not scream when frustrated? Help him want to sit and do a craft or listen to the Bible story?

We do not have access to a para to specifically help him. There are always two teachers in the room, however, mostly because that many 4 and 5 year olds need double attention.

This is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!

  • What order do you watch Star Wars: Clone Wars?

I've finally decided to watch the Clone Wars, but have no idea where to start.

Is the movie first? Then the tv shows? Are there two different tv shows? The animation looks different on some of them.

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks.

  • Need some good war movies?

My husband and I exhausted our war movie collection this Christmas holiday and we need some more to watch. With the extra time at home because of the holidays, we've just been watching war movies and it's one of our favorite movie themes, but we've watched all the ones we own and want to see more.

Any suggestions? To rent on Netflix? Must buy movies?

    We've watched:

    Gladiator (partly war)

    Black Hawk Down

    The Kingdom

    Saving Private Ryan

    Band of Brothers

We're part way thru The Pacific, but waiting for the next disc on Netflix.

I'm usually really good at finding these movies but drawing a blank at the moment, plus you guys might know some that I haven't heard of.

*You're probably thinking we're weird for watching all these, but with no kids and very few places to travel for the holiday, we've got time on our hands!

  • Christmas present for brother in law in the military?

My husband's side of the family draws names each year for Christmas presents so we don't break the bank buying a gift for everyone (big family). This year I got my husband's step-brother who is currently stationed in Europe, but will be home for Christmas. I'm having a hard time coming up with something that will be good for him and that is easy to travel with back overseas because he's going to be there awhile longer. I haven't had much time to get to know him because he's only been home a few times since my husband and I started dating and he hasn't been home since we married last year.

Any ideas? His sister suggested movies and I can do that, but I want to do more!

  • Looking for movie about a ghost who returned to haunt someone?

I remember a movie I watched (wasn't supposed to be watching) back in the late 80s-early 90s about a guy coming back and haunting someone. The only scenes I remember are of this guy being buried in the sand with just his head showing with the tide coming in. You see the water start to rise and then there is an underwater shot of him dead from drowning. The next thing I remember seeing is the guy who supposedly buried him sitting at home and then the zombie/ghost of the drowned guy comes wandering in covered with seaweed and he's a nasty green-blue color. He tries to kill the guy who buried him.

This is all that I remember because I was young and it freaked me out and I think I left the room or changed the channel after that part.

A small part of me thinks that the dead guy was Ted Danson, but I just looked at his imdb.com page and none of those movies sounded like it. I could be wrong though.

    Any thoughts?

  • Hors d'oeuvres recipe with cheese?

I'm doing hors d'oeuvres for Thanksgiving dinner. Just something small to tide you over til the big meal.

I need an idea one involving cheese. I don't want to do fondue, that's too messy and a lot of prep.

One thing I'm already doing is a tomato bruschetta on sliced baguettes.

I want to stear away from just doing a soft spreadable cheese onto a baguette. While this sounds really tasty, it's just another bread appetizer!

Anyone have any ideas? I don't mind spending a little more on this than normal, because it's a holiday with family and you don't eat like this everyday!!

I'd prefer to stay away from the smelly cheeses. I just have some picky family members who I know would not eat it.

  • Best source for history/back story of comic book heroes?

The more super hero/comic book movies come out, the more I want to know of their history. Not the history of the writers and when they were released, but the history of the characters.

Like the back story of Logan and why/how became Wolverine (I know the movie had to leave a lot out).

Now, do I need to read the comic books? Because frankly, there are tons. (plus dozens of different subplots and stories)

Is there a website that sums up the back stories (or gives great detail) of a lot of the DC and Marvel characters? Thank you so much. And try not to laugh too hard at my lack of knowledge. :)

  • Need some ideas for Back to the Future costumes?

I'm thinking this up a little too late, but my husband and I have been tossing back and forth ideas for halloween costumes. We have a church function to go to on Wednesday night and I finally came up with the idea of dressing like Marty and Doc Brown for our church fall festival.

I need some inexpensive ideas on how to dress. Also I can't decide which one of us should be Doc and who should be Marty. I almost thought about doing Lorraine and Marty, but Doc and Marty are funnier.

I need some ideas! We have red suspenders (for Marty) and a lab coat shouldn't be that hard to get a scrub supply store. Should I do Doc dressed in his hazmat suit from using the plutonium?

Marty should be pretty easy to dress. Jeans, sneakers, plaid shirt, suspenders (the life jacket maybe hard to find though). And I'm trying to find out if my brother still has his skateboard we can use. I'm trying to buy as little as possible!

Any other suggestions? I'm drawing a blank!!

    Thanks!

  • How to remove paint from a metal filing cabinet?

When I was younger I had a beige metal filing cabinet in my room and I painted a giant purple flower on it. My mom was cleaning out my old room and wants me to have it. It's a good filing cabinet, but the giant purple flower is kinda ugly now. How can I remove it? It's just acrylic arts and crafts paint.

Would simple paint remover work? Should I just paint over it?

    Thanks!

  • Looking for a substitute for bread stuffing mix?

I just found a good recipe and one of the ingredients is chicken-flavored dry bread stuffing mix. I'm a little confounded as to what this. I'm probably over thinking it and it is just as it sounds.

I don't want to go to the store. I'm just going to use what I already have in my kitchen.

Any substitutes for dry bread stuffing mix? Could I just use old bread? Bread crumbs?
